Shinniesta
we will get a beating in the final.i expect him to revert to type and sit in.What makes you say that? The last two games against the tims have both been at Parkhead with the teams sharing a pair of 1-0 wins. The tims are not as strong this season they havent truly replaced Dembele, Armstrong and Roberts. No reason to believe they will just blow us away. We'll have a half decent chance and surely the players will believe more than ever after winning today. Hampden won't seem so daunting for them now. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Deserves the response for at least trying the attacking formation. And the fight and togetherness is still there in spades. Watch Shinnie come over to Wright when he’s subbed. Negatives are obviously for all that the punts from the corner flag from Devlin are chronically wasteful and ineffective. And we’ve got bloody lucky Ferguson is as good as he is. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Em no. When he signs a 19 year old who performs handsomely in a difficult centre midfield for us (difficult in so far as we are all too willing to give it up) and who scores our only goals in two of our biggest games this season then there has to be an element of luck Shirley? If not then please sign three or four more Derek. When he signs x (and I dread to think how many x actually is now) to replace the experience of Robson and fails you have to question it surely? Devlin long balls are ineffective because it’s our sole tactic. That’s why there’s 4 opposition players standing waiting for both it and the second ball. Link to comment

Yorston Vasey
Piss off mate You're back into the minority, mcinnes has shown his balls Now show us your arse as you twaddle off with your legs between your legsYep, good to see this. Funny that it's taken until he's had his least creative/attacking squad before he decides to trust them and let them go at it. Ifs and buts I know, but we might have had one or two more trophies if he'd let his squads from the past few seasons be a bit more adventurous in the big games. Roll on 2nd December. Win this and he becomes the first non-OF manager to win two domestic trophies in Scotland since Alex Smith did that in 1990? Link to comment
davieb
What was evident today was the need for a creative midfielder and a striker, we have nothing in midfield. I shudder to think how much we've wasted Gleeson and Forrester. Link to comment
Panda
McInnes stepped up today and passed the test. He got his line-up almost correct - the only blot being Lowe should have started ahead of Considine. But, he picked broadly what would be classed as our strongest XI. It had four attack-minded midfielders in it, was a positive line-up. His tactics were good defensively. He went man for man with the wingers which meant although Rangers had most of the possession, they didn't get to really test Joe Lewis. Kent had a lot of the ball but in the wrong areas, he didn't hurt Aberdeen. His subs were also good. Having May & Wilson both on - although neither offered a threat, they put pressure on the full-backs which caused them to make mistakes, which started to get McGinn & GMS more involved in the game. The passing was poor and we constantly gifted up possession, but that was the players who have to take responsibility for that. McInnes made an interesting comment afterwards when he said a team is only as good as their striker. Aberdeen clearly lack that. A right good number 9 totally changes that team. And, although he didn't quite do it today, don't give up on Wrighy at number 10 - bear in mind he's just back from injury. But, the fans who keep saying he's taken is as far as he can - that's now his fourth cup final. He's 90 minutes away from a second trophy. That's the facts whether you believe we'll beat Celtic or not, and clearly achieving another cup win, and one where last season's 1st, 3rd and 4th places teams are all beaten away from Pittodrie, is taking the club further than it's been previously. 3 Link to comment

If you are set up as deep as we were, then there's only so much space to pass the ball. I think we deserved it on the basis that we defended superbly and actually looked a threat when we were near their box, we just didn't get there enough. They had a lot of the ball but could still be playing now without scoring. Link to comment

I also thought Ferguson was having a poor game and then he popped up with the winner. McKenna and Devlin defended superbly however like others have mentioned their distribution was really poor. We just lacked any real presence in midfield. I thought when May came on for Wright he helped rough up the The Rangers defence and did a lot of chasing down - that brought us into the game more. Thought Lowe was a massive improvement on Considine - hope going forward he starts more often. Logan isn't as fast these days but still defensively good. I felt sorry for Wilson as he was so isolated up front. He has great pace and you can tell he's got ability but he'd benefited greatly playing alongside someone - IMO that would be May. Have a word.I agree though I would say he had plenty of time to rebuild the midfield and get a striker in and he's made a pig's ear of that. To his credit Ferguson and Devlin are excellent signings and exactly the type of young hungry players we should be bringing in. Credit to both he and the players for the cup run under difficult circumstances due to injuries, suspensions and tough away draws. Time to get a settled team on the park and start climbing the league starting with Hamilton on Wednesday Link to comment

Mr John
May's run down the right where he ran over the ball last night was Magennis-esque, but at least big Josh got on the end of some crosses. Two things: he either isn't getting the service he requires, or he's done. Link to comment

Can't control 1. I'm not in charge of transfers at Aberdeen FC. Or any other club. Ask someone else. PLEASE3. Err, we have..? 2. Can't control what? The order in which you reply? Kidding. So you agree, the injuries/SFA suspension for no reason factor is uncontrollable, so why are people on here freaking out at the manager? We've finished consistently 2nd for several seasons and reached several cup finals and semis. Do people actually think there are better managerial options out there who would get this squad of players to perform better against teams whose squad value outstrips us six to one? Glass ceiling, motherfuckers. The only is down, fuck you Yazz. 1 Link to comment
