Sandafc
Why were none of us told this at the time then? And why were they waiting for us? I have no idea and none were told why they were waiting at the side of the road for ages. Its not up to the supporters club to decide if they should take the additional 20 or so. I can assure you that it was cramped to the max without the extra. Link to comment
Frank Butcher
Sorry I'm not on here every day like some people. All I'm saying is why was their bus waiting at the side of the road half an hour after the game waiting for us? Not our fault that their bus was crammed even with 20 odd spare seats, even if that is true. I am confused , the bus obviously was not waiting for you saying it fucked off with out you. And no ones saying it your fault there bus was crammed, but what did you expect 20 of you to pile on an all ready'crammed', and how is the other buses fault theres was full Fit you actually moaning at ?? DonTillIDie
How long were you standing at the side of the road, again?Between 10 and 15 minutes while the 2 bus drivers discussed things. Their bus driver was obviously sent out to tell us that they then didn't want to take us. Whether they had changed their mind after saying to our bus driver on the phone that they would take us, I don't know. This was on top of about half an hour after the game had finished and once that bus left without us, it was another 45 minutes to an hour before we managed to hire another bus. It wasn't the time factor that bothered me. It was the fact that we were told the bus had 20 odd spare seats and they didn't take a single person from our bus. Link to comment

There was about 20 of us left. The other bus waited for us outside the coach park but when we got there they refused to take us. It sounded like they had changed their mind for some reason. Personally I think it was because they saw the bus company we were using. Our driver said something had happened between both parties the week before. So it looks awfully like a "tit for that" situation. I personally find it hard to believe that a bus is very crammed with 20 odd spare seats. Link to comment

I know Mini's supporters bus doesn't like flags very much. That might have been why they didn't let you on. Wouldn't want any flags blocking the view of the drive up the road. Link to comment
RUL
I heard about this, the reason they said no was because the bus they had was a kids bus so the seats and room inside the bus was smaller than usual so even with the supposed spare 20 seats it was still already tight for them.Haha are you serious? A kids bus? Link to comment

E-P-K
Should of just went to the Tesco near by, got a 12 pack, sat in the bus park and got shitmarack and made the best of a bad situation until another bus arrived. I remember years ago being left in the East end of Glasgow, mid week, after all the buses and trains had left, and not having a mobile phone, nor much money, that was an eventful night. Dandyesque
I find it hard to believe that bus manufacturers make buses solely for use by children. Where would they get the drivers for starters? Link to comment
Dynamo
Why don't you ask the other 20 people on our bus then. Or phone Pittodrie. It was one of their buses that broke down. Bus number 5. Phone them on Monday then and ask them. Maybe you are a member of the Supporter's Club who abandoned us? Can you please provide numbers and I will do this. Link to comment
Foster14
Is it that god-awful yellow school bus run by First? If so, from having sat on it out to Garthdee on various occasions, I can confirm it has been designed in such a manner that anyone over 5 foot cannot sit in any comfort. Link to comment

Well, it is in excess of 5 years since I did so, but First used it to run the shuttle bus between RGU in the centre of Aberdeen and at Garthdee. Since we were only charged Link to comment

Is it our fault your driver was talking shite? There was no room on our bus. We were not waiting for you, we were waiting for people from our bus who were lost (and who eventually found us). There was also never a mention of any £100. The bus company you were using was never mentioned, and I've no idea where the idea that the supporters club had a problem with that company has come from. We always use the same bus company so I think your driver was telling you shite there too. Not to mention "the week before" was a home game so why would we have had a bus with any company? We had 49 folk on that bus. Did that bus we were on look any bigger than a normal coach? Link to comment
Pyramid
Well this story is certainly not matching up now is it?!? Surely you would be able to see if there were spare seats on the bus or not?!?! I have never heard of a bus designed for kids..... Link to comment

Surely you would be able to see if there were spare seats on the bus or not?!?! I have never heard of a bus designed for kids..... Kids bus=would have had to have been 70 kids to fill to capacity. We'd been told by the bus company not to fill the bus to capacity beforehand as we were meant to be getting a 49 seater which ended up in the garage. Penfold has summed up what happened but I'm still not sure where the driver of the other bus is getting his story from. Didn't even see him or the other passengers until after the decision had been made. Link to comment

We had 49 folk on that bus. Did that bus we were on look any bigger than a normal coach? It sounds like this may have been another bus then. Various people have replied to this post but are maybe speaking about different buses, hence confusing the matter. All I'm saying is that we met up with another bus about half an hour after the game. There were 21 of us and we were told a bus had room for all of us, but the bus then pulled away without taking any of us. So if there was a bus that was just waiting for 2 of their supporters who were lost, logic would say that this must have been another bus. If this was the bus though, why was their driver out speaking to us for 15 minutes (telling us they were now refusing to take us) if there were just 2 seats left on the other bus and he knew they were only waiting for the 2 people from their own club? Our driver did say a bus (whichever one it was) was offered £100 but refused to take us and that there was a situation between the 2 parties before. Why would he be lying about this? If it wasn't your bus, it must have been another bus then. And ok the situation couldn't have happened the week before (because it was a home game), but it must have been the last away game or something like that. Proud9 in Post 30 says the guy has now been banned from running buses from that company. If this is the case, there must have been room on the bus and not just 2 seats for the guys that were lost (which sounds like another bus). Before drawing a line under the whole thing, I just wanted to make clear this is what happened (whichever supporters bus it was). Anyway, come on the dons. Go all out to beat Hibs tonight and maybe get them relegated. It won't make up for the semi-final but it would be something. Link to comment
