U20's Thread

1-0 down - 3rd minute .

McKay for them, Billy ?

Aye it was, didn't realise it was him until the 2nd half. Didn't stand out in an U20's game! Or maybe it was the fog.

There was a good 10mins or so of added time due to an injury to Mbayo who landed awkwardly after jumping for a header. He was stretchered off in a neck brace so hope they were just being cautious.

Performance wise it was similar to the St Johnstone game - not a polished performance and a lot of balls lumped into the channels for us to chase but there was some flashes of good play. The first two goals were just goalmouth scrambles but Dangana's was a good finish.

RE the balls being lumped forward, is this Sheerins coaching? I've heard some folk say his coaching is utterly pathetic.

Christ. Surely the club can find good quality youth coaches, I'd hate to think we are still living in the dark ages when any old shite coach is considered fine for our young players.

We could ask Ollie but that seems a bit unfair!

Hopefully deano comes on and gets the winner, reckon dangana will though.

Not to be unfortunately. Good to get half an hourish under the belt though, as he didn't expect to be in the squad as he only trained once on Monday after picking up his injury against the guffs.

Hopefully no reaction to it today and is fully fit for the cup game on Saturday.

Aberdeen youngsters Bruce Anderson and Connor McLennan have this afternoon gone out on Development Loans until January 2018.

To gain valuable first team experience Bruce has joined League Two side Elgin City whilst Connor has returned to
Championship outfit Brechin City where he spent a month on loan last season.

As both deals are Development Loans the strikers are still eligible to play for Paul Sheerin's U20 side in the Development League.

Bruce and Connor can also feature in the Irn-Bru Cup for the Aberdeen Colts team against Inverness CT this weekend (as they are cup-tied) and will first feature for their new teams on Saturday 9th September.

Why? If he gets in the team he will be playing league football, can't see any benefit in remaining in the U20 league? Imo our U20's would be better served playing in the Highland League than travelling all around Scotland playing pointless U20 games.

Becuase they're fucking shite. If we're trying to develop these guys then we should be sending them to no less than the Championship. League 2/U20 League/Highland League, are all much and much the same. I see absolutely no progression in the lads development going to Elgin.

Is he not one of the younger professionals though - plenty time to go to a championship side. Maybe just needs to get more streetwise playing against mannies first. Sure Mcinnes knows what he's doing better than you like.
