I hate to say it but the sooner we get a new ground the better, at least we'll not be training like a sunday league team, driving to training in your fitba gear!

Nice figures, ta.

There isn't really any argument from my perspective - all the peices have to fit together.

McInnes has been a very solid manager for us granted.

But it's nonsense for people to suggest he has single handedly turned around the club.

In regards to professional standards he has. We are no longer seen as a club where players come and put in half arsed displays for decent wages and are out on the piss every night.

We have been a joke club for years until mcinnes was appointed.

McInnes has clearly caused attendance to drop.

On 29th of October, 2011 we had an attendance of 15,468.

Then on 15th of May, 2015 we had an attendance of 10,003.

...do you see the problem with your argument?

Lol good 1 m8, you showed him

I thought success was when you won something?
League Cup on pens against ICT.
Not to bothered about if he stays or goes at the moment, but please don't count finishing runners up and failing to reach group stages of Europa as being successful.

Phew - your standards are high!

Dont listen to him . That idiot exists on stupid opinions and Talksport rumours.

He hates me bringing this up over and over but he suggested the current Montrose manager would be an upgrade as it would be "different' . He doesn't like mentioning it as he realised eventually it was stupid.

Hes a simpleton!

It would appear to be a moral-boosting show of commitment timed to coincide with the eve of our first competitive game of the season.

(It won't hurt with recruitment of the midfielder we're looking for, either.)

Also appears to be a smokescreen for the lack of an additional midfield signing before our first competitive match.......not that I’m being cynical in any way

A 'board' wouldn't be 'a single person'.

I don't need to re-read it.

I never said a board would be a single person.

Maybe you need to re-read mine?

Along with Doc and arguably Brown yes that's a sensible way to put it.

You do realise he manages the football team not runs the whole business top to bottom? right?

Of course, but it's a results-based business (and McInnes, more than any other single person, would be credited with being responsible for improving our results).

Aye? And a manager can do that with no budget from his board?

A 'board' wouldn't be 'a single person'.

(Please re-read.)

I don't need to re-read it.

I never said a board would be a single person.

Maybe you need to re-read mine?

Never said you did, but why was that your response?

I said 'single person' and your retort was 'the board'.

If McInnes isn't the SINGLE MOST person to be credited with the reason for our upturn in our onfield results over the last six seasons, then who would you say it is?

So.... McInnes?

Good!

(No point in arguing the obvious.)

That's great.

Still no idea what single person etc etc has to do with the original point you replied to though.

I’m pretty sure McInnes would credit anything to the entire club rather than just to himself........except in an interview with WBA

That improved attendances come from improved results (and that McInnes, more than anyone, is responsible for our improved results).

Two stand alone random games don't prove your point. Do you know how 'averages' are worked out? I don't think our average has ever dropped below 11-12k, it's currently about 13-14k. In short, you're talking shite.

That was the first game of the season against a relatively low opponent. Obviously the averages are brought up when we gave the OF 2 sections under McGhee/Brown etc.

I will accept double for attendances was OTT, I had typed doubled for the turnover and went with it; should have said significant improvement for attendances.

That’s correct, but there’s a glass ceiling (just ask Ferguson). Trouble is Derek plays to the ceiling with minimal effort to break through it.

Now we can argue all day about the adjective there.

Minimal. Sensible. Commercial. Reliable. Equitable. Safe. Comfortable. Non speculative. Rational.

Fans will base their purchasing decisions on that approach. They shouldn’t be criticised for it (too much.)

Yeah but you interjected this into a slightly different thread started by a poster who was implying the manager single handedly is responsible for everything that happens in a football club.

Which presumably you agree with me is not the case?

Because good or not the manager needs a platform to work from, and our whole club has significantly improved in a number of areas since the McGhee days.

I would say that the manager sets the tone for the club

we have had a direction before based on by loads and see what happens we have had a direction that sees changes on a regular basis - Mcinnes  has set a tone of hard working good players that are loyal because he is loyal back. That is the direction he has set he is responsible for that 100%. the board have seen that work and have reacted to it but supporting what he wants they have gone out and got the funding in place to meet his needs

it could be strongly argued that the board are also working for mcinnes. They are meeting his requirements. Is stewart Milne and dave McCormack that different to Gordon Marshall? the are all providing Mcinnes with his tools. Is Gordon Marshal responsible for Joe lewis - well yes he is in away but it was mcinnes who sanctioned lewis, who got him on a 5 yr contract who made him captain but gaining trust it was milne who sanctioned a new contract

I get what you mean the club as a whole has come together - but the hand on the rudder, the one who decided the course, is Mcinnes
