Out Of Contract

I disagree with that.

I thought he was superb when he first signed, he was something I felt we were lacking - and could find a pass, but perhaps he put in more effort at the beginning (see also Ash Taylor) because it is the best club IMO that he'll ever play for.

He then went backwards, and forgot how to play football and show himself up to be the average player he is. He was far from average when he first signed that much is true.

Yesterday showed him in the light of when he first signed, but 1 game which was his last, and a half dozen games at the beginning doesn't make up for the terrible middle spell of his career with us.

Kind of agree with this. When he first signed, I posted on here that his distribution from the back was good and what we had been sorely lacking. Seemed to lack confidence after being caught a couple of times and now looks very uncomfortable on the ball.

Change of scenery probably best for all.

Let it go min. He's a CM, just let it go.

Played 2 post split games at left back to be fair. He's a footballer who can play both positions pretty well to be fair.

Where he plays next season will be dependent on who we get I'd imagine. If he is to play midfield then we need another left back despite how good Considine was yesterday.

He's a LB who can fill in at CM.

He's played there the majority of his time here because Considine is a better LB than most of the CM's we've had are in CM, ergo Shinnie plays where our weakest link is.

No midfielder picks up 19 yellow cards a season playing in their natural position.

He plays there because our manager decides to play him there. If he had intentions of replacing Considine and was desperate for Shinnie to play there, he'd have done so in the past 2 years ffs.

As I said, let it go. He's a CM.

John Mcginn had 20 this season.

Dom Ball is miles better than tansey so I would be happy to have him part of the squad. Realistically we need probably 3 new centre mids and if one of them was Ball I would be happy as long as we signed some real quality along with him.

Agreed and given Ball is under contract there is no super rush into a deal so maybe see how much wages there is to play with in one months time

Looked that up and right enough he has, although that's over a couple more games than Shinnie (Scotland and cup games). That surprised at first, but how often has it been said on here that he isn't all that he's made out to be by the media? Runs a lot and gets stuck in, but Shinnie usually has him in his back pocket when they've faced each other.

I'd still rather see Dom Ball (or someone of a similar mould) as a holding mid with 2 McLean/Christie types in front of him in the middle. 2 who can take the ball down and go past a player / pick a good pass. Who that'll be i've no idea though.

Was more just an observation and it's hardly mentioned. I think he's a good player and will develop further.

As for centre mids for us fuck knows. Desperately need to replace McLean with someone very good though.
