I'm not disagreeing with you, just looking for your suggestions of who we should be going for.

Mcinnes likes Stewart and Brophy. We have to be realistic that they are possible signings.

That's just unimaginative though.  Signing players that we know aren't likely to make much if any difference and are unlikely to have any sell on potential.  Just the free transfer merry-go-round.

Interesting.... as in fucking shite you mean?

He can’t get in a shite Kilmarnock team.

On what logic do you think it would be “interesting”?

Interesting.... in that i'd be surprised... i didn't see that one coming until 2pm today

to humour you with a reply. He's certainly better than Main, Cosgrove and Edmondson based on a couple of goals ive seen against aberdeen/sevco

Issue being, I don't see either Main or Cosgrove going anywhere.

Main MIGHT be tempted if offered up in a swap deal, or if some feel bastard offers him an 18 month or 2.5 year deal but Cosgrove isn't going anywhere, despite our best wishes.

He's out of contract at the end of the season. McInnes would be utterly mental to renew his contract.

Cosgrove will get his move. He's still scoring the occasional goal. 3 in 9 this season and he's been used as a late sub in a few of them.

Ross Stewart is virtually a clone of Cosgrove. We need a mobile striker who can link up with the likes of Wright and Hedges.

EXCLUSIVE: Championship duo battling Scottish quartet for free striker (teamtalk.com)

Barnsley had already shown an interest in the 24-year-old – who has been capped by Scotland – and now they are ready to offer him a pre-contract in January.

A number of Championship rivals are also believed to be looking including Luton, but he will also have the chance to remain in Scotland.

We understand Aberdeen, Hibernian, Hearts and St Mirren are all looking to open talks with him over a free transfer move in the summer.

Brophy recently reached 100 league appearances for Kilmarnock. In that time, he has scored 29 goals.

So far this season, he has scored two goals from eight starts in the Scottish Premiership. Last season, he managed nine goals from 24 starts.

Instead of a Brophy, Stewart etc can we not find someone that has been regularly scoring goals playing at a lower level.

We have someone who was scoring regularly at top level in Cosgrove.

Square pegs in roond holes ain't it? Signing Watkins was bemoaned because of his goalscoring record yet it was the most impressive we've been all season.

What is Shankland’s contract situation? Is he out of contract in the summer?

O/O/C summer 2022

I know he's been injured for a fair chunk of this season but I think it's already fairly apparent that with 3 goals in 17 appearances......he's probably found his level at United. Can tear it up in the Championship but he'd be no better for us than first time around.

Sevco or Celtic could do worse than have him onboard as a 4th or 5th choice option.....he'd be cheap and with them both being flat track bullies to everyone else in the league, he'd be a reliable finisher covering for injuries or just to rest their higher up striker choices against the dross or in cup games. But for anyone else he's going to struggle to score more than 12-15 goals a season

As much as the strikers are shite, how many good chances did they miss?

Main in the 2nd half? Just the one?

as Aberdeen1970 has said, lack of creativity is a persistent problem.

It’s the McInnes way though. Pragmatism & dull football
