I'm assuming this is the Wednesday PR event that was mentioned on a couple of threads over the weekend.

Just read the whole document. Must make a few folk somewhere within club feel important.
Facts that are missing include, but not restricted to, are;

a) Quality of team on slide for last 2 seasons and, pending the next transfer window, could continue to do so.
b) We are going to finish 3rd or 4th this season, which backs up a). Again, if we do not recruit well within the forthcoming transfer window, there is a danger of returning to the bottom six which the document appears to be claiming that we have left for good.
c) Our manager's stock in the game has seriously went backwards since his flirtations with Sunderland and Huns. Again should he oversee yet another poor transfer window and, if the club are really serious about the intent of this document, then they seriously require to replace him with someone with fresh ideas prior to moving to the new stadium.

In a nutshell the forthcoming transfer window is crucial to the immediate direction of the club. Get it right and the aspirations of document are valid, get it wrong then the document is no more than a pipe dream.

The Club are trying to hide the fact we're going backwards and McInnes has no clue how to sort that out now we have competition from other clubs bar the tims.

Stats, miniskirts etc.

So the quality of our team deteriorated whilst the manager managed to keep us in second place last season, which led to his stock falling.

Which is it?

Some folk forget we are competing against a newly formed club which is spending a ridiculous amount of money that it can't afford, just like the previous club.

Kilmarnock have had a fantastic season and a half. Let's see if they can maintain it when teams go out to nullify their strengths next season.

Come on!
Despite finishing second last season our performances were on decline, which has continued this season.
Given the quality of Scottish football and the budget the Aberdeen manager is given top 4 should be the minimum expectation.
DM has managed that to date, albeit the early years excluded Hearts, Hibs and Huns.
This season we could end up 4th with next season looking a difficult one at present, unless we have a good transfer window.
If folk think otherwise they are clearly deluding themselves in my mind.

You're skewing the facts to fit your agenda though.

If anything, McInnes is becoming a victim of his relative success. How certain are we that someone else can come in and do a better job?

Ha ha fair point but it's men's football that earns the money in the first place.

I'm all for equality - let the women's team generate their own income.

Who's to say the women's game might generate more money for the club in the years to come than the men's game...? A few more Aberdeen ladies in the Scotland team which qualifies for the big tournaments and and additional revenue stream for the club... Ah but it does say specifically in the document that we don't speculate to accumulate so as you were...

LOL

Aberdeen's under 15 side would put about ten past the women's team.

Interesting read. Nothing in it that you wouldn't expect from a club trying to raise extra revenue to pay for a new stadium and training facilities.

Good to see investment in the youth. Need to produce our own players with a view to selling on when the time/price benefits us.

Surprised no great announcement of a contract extension by Wiggy at the end of all this. That may still come of course!

I'll bite.

The money being put into women's football - sponsorship, prize money, TV money etc is going to rise and rise, especially at FIFA and UEFA level.

Chances are, Aberdeen's women's team have more chance of reaching the latter stages of the champions league than the men's team do.

If Aberdeen invest a six-figure sum and earn a seven-figure sum from the team being successful, I'd say that's money well spent. It could actually be a lucrative little side earner for the club.

It's not as if Aberdeen are alone in this. Pretty much every big club in the world is taking women's football seriously.

We are not certain but are you certain that DM is still the man to oversee the next transfer window, which will be critical in ensuring that we have a chance of realizing the aims of today's document.
I most certainly remain to be convinced.

They've sold 760,000 tickets so far for the World Cup.

Atletico Madrid-Barcelona had a crowd of 60,000 in June.

Bilbao-Madrid had 48,000 in January.

Juventus-Fiorentina had 39,000 at it a few weeks ago.

Two weeks ago the women's FA Cup final had 43,000.

And the SFA are estimating, based on ticket sales so far, that they could have a crowd of 20,000 for the friendly with Jamaica at Hampden.

But aye, "no-one cares".
