He was absolutely fine tonight although in a couple of previous games did look out his depth. Probably is true to an extent.....he is out of his depth against the likes of Belgium and other top 15 or so nations of the world. But other than Robertson, so are everyone else that we have at our disposal.

 

He probably would be ok at a low end EPL side or upper Championship side and going to that level might develop him a bit further than staying with us but he's never ever going to be a world beater

Watched the game live and it was a usual Scotland game. Huffed and puffed and made it difficult for ourselves as per, but grinded out the win.

Robertson fantastic goal, but lost his man for the equaliser. Forrest anonymous and Fraser let himself down too often with tje final ball. Other than that a typical workmanlike performance.

Anyone else think Barry Robson was on the cans before the studio stuff on Sportscene?

McKenna and Mulgrew did well yesterday.  They were two of our better performers.  McKenna is a much better option than Souttar - he's too erratic and makes way too many mistakes.  He can look good for a club like Hearts, at times, in the SPFL, but I don't think he can play any higher until he irons out the rough edges.  He'd be cruely exposed at international level if given a run of caps.

 

McLean and McGinn were the biggest issue IMO.  They were both very poor.  We were getting outplayed for long periods, at home, to a team like Cyprus.  Both these guys have had tremendous seasons for their clubs sides, and as a result will be playing in the EPL next season.  They should be dominating the midfielders they were up against.

Energetic doesn't equate to being good.  He should have playing all the football - up against a couple of lads from the Cypriot league.  They had more of the ball for much of the match!  Folk are talking about cyprus being technically better than us... McGinn and McLean are two players from the so-called best league in the world.  They shouldn't be letting the Cypriot lads have a touch.  They need to be so much better than that against that quality of opponent.

 

McGinn's endeavor is always impressive, but he couldn't trap a wet bag of cement and he can't pass the ball.
