Joe Lewis is no Rat Jack. And not for 1 year either.

That deal for Jack was a shocker.

Apologies I misread your post. I thought you were referring to the Lewis Ferguson contract.

I've no problem with Joe Lewis being captain if he wants to extend his contract. But I wouldn't be saying sign an extension and we'll make you captain.

Is making someone captain some big incentive to a player?

Nae sure min. Would rock some players boats is think but a lot wouldn't be bothered or even want the gig.

I suppose it depends whether you get any extra cash for bring captain.

McInnes seems to think the sun shines out of Ferguson's arse and with him apparently now being on a 5+ year contract seems a safer choice as captain after the learnings of Jack/Shinnie.

Lewis - only on a one year contract - if he'd like to extend by at least two years in the next two months is welcome to the captaincy.
Devlin - no brainer he would be captain a while ago but now some concerns over the amount of games he missed
Logan - some would say McInnes tried to replace him in the summer with the Naismith pursuit
Considine - McInnes has already overlooked him three times when picking a captain
McKenna - apparently Plan A is to sell him in 2019 so even if he chosen might only be temporary

so considering all the above it's just between Devlin and Ferguson. Stick on for me that they'll be named captain/vice in whatever order. #AcciesRus

Attributes are definitely there.
Many young players have flourished with this responsibility bestowed upon them.
Nae that I can think of any at present.
Er...
Martin Buchan?

Joe Lewis would be a good choice I think, he plays pretty much every game and represents the club well, seems popular with other players. If it helps him sign a new contract then even better as I doubt we'll get as strong a goalkeeper in again.

Add to the fact he's easily our best player. It's not even close to be honest.

This season it's quite worrying but I'd say Ferguson has been our best player.

The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen

Mean home sweet home to me

The Northern Lights of Aberdeen

Are what I long to see

I've been a wanderer all of my life

And many a sight I've seen

God speed the day when l'm on my way

To my home in Aberdeen!!

Great having him and McKenna tied down to deals, the club is clearly hoping to sell both for major money.

Great business by the club.

Hope he continues to develop as a player and we can sell him down south in a few years time for several million.

Could it be that this has been done due to Shinnie and GMS telling DM they are off in Summer ?

You'd imagine they'd have wanted to do this regardless of what any other players was doing.

Yeah , liked to have thought so but they may have been in a position to offer a bit more cash to secure him on a longer deal knowing the other 2 are leaving. Anyway it’s great news.. we should be building our team around this lad.
