His improvement this season so far has been barely believable.Great run through for first but looked possibly offside. Two good finishes though & one of them a meg as well. Regardless of how his season ends up if come the summer we are thinking he could be a 20 goal a season man for next season then we'll have saved ourselves more than a fair wedge. I am still not convinced like but be delighted for him to prove me wrong. Also if we have real confidence in one striker we can probably go with 3 instead of 4 which is saving wage for elsewhere in the team. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy Posted January 15, 2019 Share Posted January 15, 2019 I can understand why some would be worried that he has just gone through a wee purple patch which has exaggerated his abilities/made him look & seem better than he is. Especially as he is pretty much the only one that has become something of a 'regular' goal scorer.I think the real good thing is that the rest of his game/work rate hasn't deteriorated since he's started scoring. He has just added the goals to his overall game & the quality of some (in fact a lot) of his goals has been a really pleasant surprise & that part is what fills me with confidence that it isn't just a 'wee purple patch'.If he had just snuck in a couple of headers, or barged a few rebounds/crosses over the line using his height/strength then I wouldn't be so confident in him turning into a very good striker for us but there has been some real quality to some of his plays/finishes. W.VDA was 6ft 5 and no way is Cosgrove as tall as him. If he was 6ft 5in with his build he'd be playing rugby league or boxing. He's not as tall as Lewis so 6ft 2 seems about right to me.
