1. Aye, wasn't a pleasant evening that, blood galore.

2. Video available on YT.

3. I can't remember where I'm thinking of then: I was pretty fucked the other time I saw them, could have been Glasgow for all I remember. Probably was.

aye ,I mentioned it before matey. Was just too big for them. Barras, I agree, probably been over a hundred times and never get tired of it.

At Libertines I was there on my own, sober(as was driving) and wearing a big hooded jacket .  Im convinced the neds thought I was a cop.  Got to the stage where I kind of pretended I was by pretending to 'covertly' talk' into my collar. I had a few gobs on my back when I left.

Also, when  got home , felt what I thought was a jobby in my hood.  Was a load of toilet roll, soaked, and moulded into a jobby shape. I left pretty early as well.

The modern gig is fucked.

The young coming through are self obsessed faggots and folk are too busy taking videos or selfies. Im quite proud that i have no videos of any gigs ive ever been too.

Its a disgusting state of affairs. Even Slayer at the Hydro was pretty tame. Mind seeing them mid 90s, barrowlands no less and it was fucking chaos. If a homosexual man or girl were anywhere near the action they would have been vaporized in the madness.

Bullsheep tried to roll back the years by launching a half full pint glass into the crowd and was heavily tutted at by all around, Of course the big man didn't give a flying fuck.

Best Barras.....Pantera 93. A juggernaut of a band at the height of their powers.

Overshadowed by the 'supergroups' who took the stage at Live Aid, Paul Weller's Style council fucking rocked out, but it's Freddie that get's the movie.

A young, angry, political Weller absolutely fucking nails it.

When they had something.

The absolute dogshit the both of them are firing out just now in comparison is laughable. How anyone could enjoy either ones' latest albums cover to cover is incredible.

In Moorings on Saturday, BillyStark nailed it, if oasis are in your top 10 bands, you haven't listened to enough music!

The above video is great FWIW. Apart from the singers jumper

Every so often something out of the ordinary will happen in the world of music, like Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show, or the Pistols on Bill Grundy.

Back in 93, Suede had just released the eponymously titled 'Suede',  and were booked to play at the 93 Brit Awards... in front of an audience consisting almost entirely of middle aged record company execs, businessmen, corporate investors, and their middle aged wives. They liked music by guys in sensible sweaters, like Val Doonican, and Des O'Connor... shit you can whistle along to.  The organisers had no idea who the fuck Suede even were... they only invited the group because The Brits had been accused of not giving new groups any exposure.  So, almost at random, they settled on Suede.

Suede came out to polite applause, Brett Anderson in a mostly open, transparent blouse, and played to a silent, unresponsive audience. There was zero feedback for the band to feed on, but Brett Anderson strutted like an androgynous whore trying to drum up business on a wet holiday weekend, smacking his arse and baring his rock hard nipples. This lasts for three glorious minutes of legend-making music, before Anderson smashes the mic to the stage and flounces off triumphant, as the majority of the audience look around at one another confused and frightened, unsure as to what they'd just witnessed.

Fucking genius is what they'd witnessed.

Massively underrated song.

Suede where the band of the moment in 1993. The press had a jizz fest over them. I never got the hype. Couple of decent tunes and that was it for me. Bretts a fucking sprout. Oasis released their first singles that year, thank fuck. Breath of fresh air. By fuck did they become woeful quick tho.
Luke Haines (singer of early 90s band The Auteurs) book/Bad Vibes is quite a funny account of that time in British indie music from his miserable point of view.
