McInnes is a one trick pony.

We can defend well which suits away from home and v the huns/tims.
When it comes to creating at home we're shite and revert to hoofing the ball up to Cosgrove.

He seems incapable of changing it at home too.
Wilson off the bench at livi was the only "game changing substitution" I can think of all season.

McLennan at home to Livi when we were 2-1 down and ended up winning 3-2 was a game changing substitution. He was the best player on the park when he came on.

Bruce Anderson first game of the season.

Sorry but that was a simple act of desperation, proved by the fact he gave him practically no game time he deserved after, even though he showed more than ANY of our front players in the little time he got.

Looking forward to him returning next season.

Like to see him, Cosgrove, McLennan, Ferguson & Campbell becoming regulars.

You can't win anything with kids though

So a substitution that changed the game only counts as inspired if it suits you?

Could argue any inspired substitution is desperation as if you're winning, you don't make it.

No. That result was great but as I said. He earned more reward/trust because of his performance then & the little time he was given afterwards but McInnes didn't show faith in him he deserved.

That was certainly a desperate act throwing him in.
If it was tactical genius as you are trying make out he would have stuck with him over the likes of Wilson, May afterwards.

I'm not having a go at McInnes subs in general this season as they haven't been as poor that I have noticed but you are over crediting him in this particular one because it worked/importance of goal. The main point is, if he done it out of faith in the player then, he would have proved this by continuing that faith afterwards but he didn't.

I'm happy that Anderson went on loan but mostly because I feel McInnes wasn't giving him the fair crack he had earned at the time.
Cosgrove bursting into goal scoring form has hidden this a bit but Anderson deserved the chance to play with Cosgrove over May/Wilson.

I have high hopes for Anderson & I believe he was ready then to break in along with McLennan/Campbell this season.
Could argue too many at once but we needed strikers at time we sent him on loan because we were struggling up front

Works both ways too. Based on Livingston Maclennan is the obvious impact sub. But based on several games since a/ he’s too good for sub and b/ injuries meant we had to play him anyway.

I think we had enough forward thinking players on the pitch Saturday to win the game, especially after going 1-0 ahead.
