Hibs agreed 250k fee for Kevin Nisbet. Hearts matched it and offered more wages according to reports but he choose hibs. Also looking to seal a deal for Alex Gogic who a few rated on here.

Piss poor from Hibs & short term thinking.
Closing their youth academy & making folk redundant whilst spending £250k on a player.
Morally shite behaviour.
Must be an Edinburgh thing.

If Cosgrove does go would Kamberi be a possible replacement. Obviously has a bit of an attitude but with the right management he could be an asset. Proven goalscorer.

I don't particularly agree with regards to the short term thinking.  If Nisbet scores goals for Hibs this season, they'll be able to punt him for 3 or 4 times that amount (at least) a year down the track.  I'd imagine that's their thinking.

It is a shite thing to do after making folk redundant though!

Speaking to Rangers TV after the move went through, the 24-year-old striker said he was "very excited", adding: "Ever since I came to Scotland it has been a dream for me to move to Rangers and it has happened today, so I am a very, very happy man.

No thank you.

Hopefully we get deals done for McKenna and Cosgrove because we need the money.
Both are replaceable and I think Michael Ruth will get a lot of game time and get a loan deal
done for a central defender or a fit Hoban.

I’d like to see Ruth in first team tbf. Seems a prospect. But you couldn’t have him Main & Anderson as your three options. Would need a more recognised goalscorer too.

Yon big galoot up at County could do us a turn. Ross Stewart. Bung them carrot crunchers £250k and they’ll fold.

£2m for Cosgrove is decent, if we add a sell on. And as has been said, given this has now been leaked, other clubs have seen our hand and won’t be offering any more.

That’s what I think will happen.
But I don’t rate him & is he any better than Main (who’s pish?)
We need better than that up front.

Wouldn't we be looking at free agents, considering we would still be in debt?

Why would we be in debt?

We had £5 million in working capital invested into the club not long before Covid.  Add another £2 million+ for Cosgrove and surely that more than covers the losses from Covid19.

It’s sickening to think Aberdeen may make a decent amount of money in transfer window for a change and it all goes to plug a hole in finances because of this virus instead of being re invested into infrastructure!

If that "infrastructure" is a stadium in the Westhill wilderness then thank fuck for Covid

Oops, I meant as in no money to spend rather than debt

I think Anderson deserves a run along with Main and Ruth and I would look at a loan striker also

I don't

Main has a year left on his contract and will be back up to either Cosgrove or whoever we sign to replace him. Anderson's level is at mid table Championship to (very) bottom Premier. If he hangs around he will be holding back Ruth's development. I think it's best all round if he is allowed to leave, in view of his service I wouldn't be wanting a fee for him (not that I would envisage many clubs being willing to shell out one for him).

Have you actually seen Ruth play ? He has played most of this season on the wing and also has played behind the striker quite a bit so asking him to step up and score the goals Sam scores is asking a bit much. Sam won't be here past October and we won't be paying for a decent striker so we will have to make do with Main and the mid table Championship striker. Ruth is the new Anderson everyone banging on about him without actually having seen him play at senior level, he may also turn out to be a mid table championship striker like you say Anderson is
