P.S. notice that the results that were announced by newco were pre-tax. Assuming they plan to pay tax this time around their "profit" for the year will be lot lower.

they won't pay corporate tax. they'll be able to offset the profit against future/past losses. What past losses you ask? Whatever sevco3443 or whatever they were called spent money on? buying the club for one.

I'm no tax expert, and granted you may get some capital allowances on the purchase of the assets, but no, there are no previous losses to offset any profits against, but lets bear in mind, they don't have any profits, I haven't seen the accounts, but is the "profit" Chuckles Green alludes to not based on the

Is it possible that Chuckles is banking on admission to England, and if it doesn't happen an d relatively soon, they are going to be up shit creek? Heres hoping :)

More possible he's paying himself first. No expert but declaring a profit on a loss making business is a just crazy, especially from a tax perspective (they would, ironically, be paying more than they have to).

Rangers chief executive Charles Green claims the club are working to become a member of the English Football League.

The club, reformed after going into administration last year, have competed in the Scottish Third Division this season, with Green critical of plans to restructure Scottish Football.

Green cited the example of Welsh clubs being allowed to play in England and believes attempts to block a move south of the border would be illegal.

"I would be delighted to be the chief executive of Rangers that took them into the English league," Green told reporters.

"We are going to pursue it. We've sought legal advice. I've had enough indications that Scottish football don't like us and don't want Rangers, so I look at other options.

"I have taken legal counsel, because let's be clear: it is a breach of European competition law to deny Scottish clubs, not just Rangers, the right to play in England. That is against European law.

"I don't believe that the authorities would stand back and try to ignore that position.

"You just try and explain to me why a Welsh club can play in the English league but a Scottish club can't."

You've got that right, Charles - you wanker :hunbash: :hunbash:

The huns have gotten off with murder from Scottish Football, so I don't know what they are complaining about. They got put into Administration by their own means, they got a bye into the 3rd Division when "new rangers" were created, they got to keep their stadium, their name, most of their players, they got a fine that will never get paid for cheating and they got a transfer ban which meant NOTHING.

Moving to England is the only way that his business model will work. Revenue is limited north of the border and if they arent in the Championship within a couple of seasons they'll be bust.

I love the conviction of this line. The dopey bastard fans will be reciting this for years to come, despite it being completely and utterly irrelevant.

The reality has hit home that this isn't the cash cow he assumed it would be.

Fuck off as soon as possible and let the human race get on with their life in peace.

Why is it that Rangers fans and Green seem to think that England is the answer - the reason that no club has gone on the european competition route and UEFA and football in general will rally fully against it is simple

Rangers win in the Court and join Div 3 in England

The very next day the top 16 clubs in europe with 4 from england joining all based on CL standings all announce their resignations and apply to join the lichtenstein league - they all get wonderful tax breaks.

Sky cancels all EPL contracts immediatly and offers the new EPL

It's more simple than that even! Rangers may very well win the right to play in England. The fact of the matter is, they can only join an association or play in a league that allows them to join. If the Premiership doesn't want them, they can apply for the womens league or maybe even a nice school-age league, but then the three of them would all be quite within their rights to tell them to go fuck themselves.
