The cost of an extra 2k is extortionate considering we only get 20k one or two times a season. By reducing the supply it will create more demand for season tickets in order to grantee a ticket for the big games. It also allows us to potentially charge more.

Maybe so, fuck knows I haven't done a cost analysis.

My point wasn't really whether would this would be the best way to maximise revenue from ticket sales- it just seemed an odd way to ensure higher revenue than our rivals by building a smaller capacity stadium than they might have.

I guess the real revenue difference maker for us is through corporate.

Fuck knows

Gigs/festivals in Spain I don’t even have to queue - even in a festival with 50,000

I think you jocks might just be a load of mongoloids

No big queue for a beer at Murrayfield in the one rugby international I attended Sco v NZ. Plenty of stalls / staff , bottles and plastic glasses.

Wasn't it the club explaining why the new stadium won't have safe standing? Because the capacity would be lower?

This stadium (if it ever happens) is going to be absolutely shite.

No safe standing, no steep stands, a tiny wee bar and fuck all nearby.

Fan surveys fairly been taken onboard eh!

You've fairly changed your tune.

You spend the first half of this thread droning on about having to match or beat the Edinburgh clubs capacity-wise.

Definitely. I am not happy about having the capacity below that of Hearts it Hibs but the costs involved are crazy. Hearts for instance just spend approx 15 million to add another 2k and have limited corporate facilities. It’s the costs that are driving the discussion.

It was mentioned in the last meeting.

Tin hat on but 18k is ample really out there.

Just so you know, I'm consciously choosing NOT to rip you for saying "tin hat on"

Like naming your house Kensington Gardens, it apparently quadruples the value of your house. Bit of an exaggeration there, but most towns would love to have a stadium built in their town. Aberdeen has never been a fitba city and these deacuses trying to stop it are either white settlers or grumpy knobs who live near the 5 miley.

18,000
Shite location
Shallow stands
No safe standing
Probably fuck all consultation with fans, and if there is, lip service & ignored.

Sounds great.

That’s what happens when you have a weasel, lickspitle, subservient cunt as chairman.

The shallow stand is the major issue with me... why does there have to be a height restriction?  The stadium is in the middle of nowhere?  What exactly is it obscuring?

It’ll be 100% to appease those folk that opposed it.
Not that an extra 20 foot in height or whatever would make a difference as it’s in the middle of fucking nowhere.

You can guarantee anything that Milne touches will turn to shit.

The height was reduced in order to appease a bunch of NIMBYs, who were never going to be appeased.

I’m happy to acknowledge if those things don’t happen.
I think most/all will.
As I’ve said, Milne’s tenure would point to failure.
For any good thing he’s done, there are 3 bad things

Really hope we don't end up with a LEGO Hampden.

Dig into the ground if they need too... will be absolutely no atmosphere if its shallow and you feel miles from action.

Height is only one element. It’s the angle too, as the RDU proves.

Hang on I’m off to the pet hates thread. How do you spell “utter cunts in the front row of RDU that still feel the need to fucking stand up”

I’ve never got why all venues haven’t sussed it out. The vast majority of folk are on pints. Just get six folk on the bar serving and four folk behind constantly pouring pints / cider whatever so there is a surplus.

Alright you might have a wee bit of wastage at the end but just give it to the staff.

Guaranteed you’d make more money than have the audience saying fuck going back in that queue for 25 mins and missing the concert.

Hydro a better comparison and they manage fine with big crowds. It's up to bar managers to get their shit together.

Any idea when AFC will open up the pitches for rental/use by the public? Like they promised.

I seem to recall that the current facilities will become available for the community once the stadium is built. Reason being that the stadium itself will contain a lot of the first team facilities.

Can't say where it got that from. Am I making that up?

Might even explain why the gym is quite basic if there's going to be another one.
