This fascination of the boy because he had one decent game against us like 4 years ago is nonsense. Shaugnessy will not come back to us to play right back. He is a a centre back now and wants to play that position, he has options up here and south that will play him week in week out at centre back. He's been great for us but it must be time were looking at some real competition for him going forward for next season. he's got complacent, their should be someone haranguing him for that position, keep him on his toes. yerp. He's been making tackles (before an attacker gets himself into the box) where he never used to. He's also making some good last ditch taclkes. Used to be really bad for backing off on players. His attacking play does seem to have suffered though, mayabe as he's focusing more on his defensive side. IDK. His short passing in attack is still ok/decent but been a while since we've seen him pinging in decent balls into the box. Something he was always pretty good at. Link to comment

A very strange decision as we've been down to the bare bones defensively all season and lo and behold virtually straight after the January transfer window we're right back down to the bare bones in that area again. Then the minute we get an experienced defender back from injury we loan him straight out. Then 3 weeks later we are back to the bare bones defensively yet again.
