You honestly think he's suddenly able to a) find a first touch b) run with the ball and c) learn to shoot all within a short space of time?  If so, kudos to our miracle working training team.

I've seen very little issue with his hold up play over the few months,  I think the biggest aspect now is that he's got others playing off him better, giving him more options.

His overall play has vastely improved over the past three games. He may have always had it in his locker (McInnes must have seen something to want to buy him in the first place). Maybe it was McInnes challenge to the strikers to start finding the net that has made him improve.

Won't disagree that he is far better as a front two rather than on his own.

Whatever the reason, we are both happy with his performance over the last 3 games so its a win/win.

:thumbup1:  His confidence looks sky high at the moment, which will be a major factor in his overall play. Long may it continue.

Cue a sending off against Celtic on Boxing day

Nobody is justified in writing off a young guy thrust into our first team having only had 6 or something full team games under his belt

Need to agree to disagree on this one. If he is playing in the first team then he is open to criticism.

Said earlier, I am delighted he has found a bit of form and long may it continue.

The way he picked up the ball and drove into the box before slaming it home was great to see. He was also looking for rebounds in the box which is what Rooney did successfully.

Hope he keeps it going.

Yeah, but there's criticism aimed at seasoned professionals and criticism aimed at a young player just starting out, some of our supporters don't know the difference. The fact a fee was paid for him doesn't instantly mean we should all get on his back and destroy him because he isn't Zlatan.......

Yeah, it’s always best to immediately criticise young players as soon as they make one mistake or have a bad game. Why bother encouraging them when you can destroy their confidence with jeers and abuse

It's not like this is a 17 or 18 year old we're talking about.. Cosgoals is 22, he's at an age and time in his career where expectations are a lot different. If he's not hitting a level of consistency then you have to start wondering if it will ever come at this level. Fortunately for Cosgoals he's starting to show this, the test will be whether this continues. Hopefully it does.

Aye, but he's younger than that in football years. default_wink2.gif

Agree. Not a teenager breaking into the team who would rightly get more time.

By age 22 and been here 10 months so rightly expected more from him.

Can understand people getting angry if folk are giving him abuse at games.

Big difference venting on a forum about a player which a lot of us do.
