Paul Lawrie Kicked Out Of Meldrum House

Being treated pretty harshly imo. He was just stating his opinion on the state of the greens. He has played on hundreds of greens around the world and obviously knows a good one from a bad one. He was obviously just trying to help them out but they have clearly taken it as an insult. Idiots.

I worked there for 5 weeks in a summer a few years ago, maybe it was me that messed up the greens and it's only becoming apparent just now :)

The course was good back when I worked there (nothing to do with me I just cut some grass and seeded bits :P ) since it's hardly touched most days as it wasn't very busy when I was there. He's a bit up himself with all the chat about him being an honorary member etc. I remember when I was working there he was in a lot, did seem to swan about a bit... he's only won the one thing and that was ages ago (maybe he's won more but pfft I dunno like).

I remember that one of the worst things about the course (other than the members who were all a bit... rich :o ) was the corporate days. Companies would pay to let their staff onto the course and play a round, while drinking. This, coupled with the fact most folk are sh*t or had never played golf, led to the whole lot getting torn up all the time.

Not using that as an excuse, just slagging off some of you company folks that have ever played there, for being sh*te and ruining the hard work of the folk there :P

:) that would be us then, but my old work had a corporate membership, so played it most weeks mainly coz it was free golf and wasnt a member of anywhere then.

yeah was always quiet, think they have a limited membership of 350, that right?

Not sure about the membership limit, I didn't pay much attention. I'm rubbish at golf though never played as didn't want to ruin the place or hold up any of the rich folk hehe.

It was alright back in the day, maybe it's gone downhill lately :o Always thought it was a shame that plenty effort went into maintaining the course, yet it hardly ever got witnessed or played on by many folk at all! Total waste really.

Then again if everyone could play on it, it'd end up like the Meldrum or Inverurie ones :)

old work had corporate membership their, thought it was nae bad but wouldnt pay that money for it.

practice facilties are decent though, but still, over the top.

couldnt stand any of the members i played with, all arseholes, more interested in turning up in their porsches and mercs with their galvin green gear head to toe than playin golf.

I played it way back, second season it was open I think. It was in fabulous condition then to be fair, but some of the holes were just meh.

Where it goes wrong are those stupid right angled dog legs, and that ridiculous hole up the hill with a hunner bunkers, looks like it's been got at by giant rabbits.

And the price is just stupid, but you're paying for millionaires golf of course, then again I get that at Dunecht for
