i think it's f**king juvenile and absurd to tell McGhee to 'shut it'.

On the one hand he is making a good point in that a lot of us are very inconsistent when it comes to abusing players etc. Perhaps what he should also say is that at least it shows we are passionate, much more passionate than most SPL fans. But I would agree with Mark that that has to be tempered with a degree of patience. I for one am much happier with the squad, at least on paper, than it was a year ago. I think we have a team capable of playing well. There are clearly still question marks over a few of thin jimmy's signings as well as some of mcghees, but time will tell...

Kerr and McDonald's pathetic displays on Saturday were akin to those seem by numerous players in the previous cup disasters - might go some way to describing why Saturday's abuse was particularly vitriolic given that QoS and Dunfermline still live with plenty of us to this day, and McGhee won't fully appreciate this aspect of it as he wasn't here.

Wonder if his comments about the changes he's trying to implement were in direct response to the Jimmy chants and personal abuse from the more moronic element in attendance? He looked aggravated to f**k in that interview!

Seems to me there are people around AFC who have been waiting to have a right go at MM from the start

Give the guy a chance - he will do the job and knows what players he needs to move on.

Aberdeen fans booing their own players is nothing new.

I remember the abuse dished out to Billy Stark who used to score goals for fun but still took stick even to point where he was booed coming off the bench.

Supporters of most clubs are fickle and will always express their views on players whether they are right or wrong.

Don't believe for a second that he was booed onto the pitch - time seems to warp peoples memories.

I'm just glad the internet wasn't around when Stark was playing. I really liked him as a player, and he scored plenty great goals, but can you imagine the frothing lunatics on here baying for blood with the way he played.

Sad.

Question I'd like to pose to MM is this. If that had been Aberdeen under AF who came within a whisker of getting pumped out of the cup by a below average 1st division side, how would Fergie have reacted?

I can recall them nae coming within a whisker, but actually being knocked out of the cup by teams as you describe under Fergie.

Airdrie rings a bell.
As does Dundee.

Nae idea how he reacted like. :dontknow:

A manager should not have a go at the fans ... once you do that ... a slippery slope develops.

If people pay their money and the team fail to deliver ... then it's their right to show displeasure.

Simple solution ... team plays to it's potential and gives thier all ... we wont lose to Motherwell or Falkirk at home, nor draw away to Raith... fans won't be pissed with them and boo them.

meaning more Ifil, McDonald, Kerr, Miller(when he was here) Mulgrew & Langfield.

If these guys played at their fullest in every game we wouldn't be in such a slump.

We do have the players to win these games, the players - for whatever reason are choosing not to fullfill their potential and play at thier highest every game.
