A decent employer will collect card tips and distribute them among staff. Means they are taxed though which is a joke. Most places pool their tips.

The thing that fucks me off is when they divide it up with all the staff. Granted some bird with massive tits is going to get more than some prick of a waiter but you are essentially tipping someone for not even serving you.

They need to get TipJar, contactless tips that go straight to them. 

Anyway I tip, restaurant 10%, hair dress a few quid, taxi round it up plus a quid maybe a little more if they are nice, more where the taxis aren't a rip off or if I know them. 

 

 

 

Actually the best tip I ever gave was to a taxi driver in Toronto.

However always tip circa 15% in restaurants unless service has been shite or I have pointed out an issue and they have done fuck all about it.

None of it should be going to management but there are some unscrupulous cunts out there. I'd say most will be handing over to their staff though, especially now that it's so hard to get staff.

The boy that does my hair is co-owner of the shop along with one other guy. In that respect I suppose it's not an employee that's potentially getting stiffed for it.
