Guest milne_afc
Union Street isn’t real anyway. It was split by the Denburn and probably called something different. North is the top. Link to comment

At that end of Union Street the numbers are low, exactly the same as King Street. Number 1 at that end and 600 odd at the far end. Therefore indisputably the top. Number 1 is the bottom. Pretty fucking simple. Or do you count down when you go from 1 to 100? Link to comment

Or when it rains, the water flows from Castlegate down to Babylon? DTS That’s the logic I have applied throughout my tenure at the crease in Aberdeen Link to comment

C’mon RF86, you are having a mare there. When you finish number one you are top. “Numero Uno” pretty much epitomises top dog. Number 1 is always top versus number 100. Link to comment

Correct. The top of King Street is indeed the Castlegate. Wrong. You go down to the beach as it is going away from the Castlegate. Everything starts from The Castlegate in Aberdeen. Link to comment
Poodler
I’ve asked a few group chats this riveting dilemma and it’s unanimous that the top of Union street is Holburn Link to comment

Yes you start from the bottom and work your way up Union Street. Is the first rung of a ladder at the top or the bottom? This isn't even about twisting words and meanings, everyone I've ever conversed with in Aberdeen knows the Castlegate as the bottom of Union Street and Holburn Junction as the top. Link to comment
