If you’re sad like me it’s quite funny/interesting/anal to open a bbc article on club liquidation now as opposed to one in say 2010 or earlier.  It seemed to be very black and white (can I still say that) and cut and dried back then.  Strangely no engine room subsidiaries were mentioned.

Rangers Football Club Ltd (DeidCo) have been replaced by The Rangers Football Club Ltd (SevCo)

Yea but ultimately they are still referred to as Rangers and still haven’t paid there debts so despite being relegated they ultimately got away with it. It doesn’t come up with The Rangers on Sky does it

The folk they are still due is laughable and ultimately they just re registered as a Newco, kept their public name and cracked on

If the sevco board come out and state categorically that they are a new club and that Rangers FC ceased to exist on the date they were liquidated, I will only then recognise that the new entity can call themselves "Rangers" in public due to the links they have with oldco. Bearing in mind that newco can never in any legal documentation be referred to as such, they will forever (or until they go down the tubes as well) be known as "The Rangers Football Club".

I think this is a reasonable position to hold, considering just how much cash oldco stiffed their creditors for. And as has been said, how newco were allowed to join the Scottish league system ahead of others who did meet all criteria necessary. Newco most certainly did not.

I fully expect to be referring to them as sevco on my deathbed however

I clearly remember newspaper headlines singing the praises of David Murray as he made bigger and bigger losses, like it was his munificence making the huns a big team.
