Restaurants Outwith Aberdeen

Recommended Posts

Japanese Street Food - Paisley.

Amazingly 4.6 on google.

Might as well pour a pot noodle into bowl and get a sumo wrestler to spit on it. Would be more authentic.

“Ramen” consisted of frozen or tinned veg, a knorr stock cube, a sprinkle of chilli, plain Tesco value pre cooked chicken breast and Asda price noodles I reckon.

Tempura batter had less crunch than an ashvale whale.

That the wee place sitting opposite the new supermarket/car sales places?

It’s great but what the fuck does it have to do with Banchory?

Had steak and suet pudding there for my 21st meal I think it was with my parents. Awesome.

Heading to Glencoe House for a birthday weekend, any good?

Also, where else would you recommend for a day's drinking and eating?

Glencoe house is posh as fuck and under new ownership I believe so can’t comment. They will normally get you a platter fae the local even seafood cafe but it’s seasonal and closed (best restaurant for miles too).

Anyone in the group happy to drive?

Larroch bar in Balla(chulish) worth a visit.

The restaurant at the kings house hotel might be worth a visit by now, was a shambles when it opened a year ago so check recent reviews.

Fort William has a decent vegan cafe called the wild cat.

Da eat out to much to be honest. Clachcaig probably worth a visit for a pint.

Dunno if this is the right thread(it's not) but has anyone took a boat down the Caledonian canal? We got one from Falkirk and went down to Glasgow in the summer, was good fun but a wee bit of a cunt about.

Cheers min, appreciate the local knowledge.

Been to the Clachcaig before and had a brilliant night of live music and drinking.

Will give the Vegan Cafe a miss like

It was a bit of a fuck about and we didn't actually get that far by the time we arranged for locks getting opened and that. Kirkintilloch by moonlight basically then we had to turn back. I'd like to give the Caley canal a go but would you realistically need a fortnight to see anything?

Cannae beat a Newcy Broon bluts, especially in a pub wi dodgy lines.

last drank it in the underage days when as a group we’d queue one by one and order the same beer (instead of one person buying the round)

You'd think with the famous Aberdeen Angus and the wild whatnot growing around, people with money to burn, you'd be bursting at the seams. Embra is full to the gunwales of restaurants.

Red/salmon pink boden jeans, the indication of here comes a rugger bugger. They are a definite gang, just how an ex marine wears a green fleece, light coloured jeans and timbys.

Not heard good things about it. The owners wanted to make it something else, but it was knocked back. So they opened that instead, with no experience in that kind of food

Your only apology required is for coming up this way and not saying so beforehand.

I've ordered from Noks Thai Kitchen on Saturday night, may be a food van in an industrial estate in Dyce but the food is top notch, cheap as well. :)

Hey RS, did you catch that Shamrock and Thistle is now open Friday though Sundays?

Perhaps we can finally meet over a cup of the black stuff 🤔
