Speedwell (Mennies) is a great wee pub up the Perth Road, Agacan just down the road is good Turkish grub. 

Soy Y Sombra in the Ferry is good for Tapas(but not cheap) Loads of good pubs down that way. The Anchor, Royal Arch, Gunners, The Ship Inn,  avoid The Fort though. The Fisherman's used to be good but Belhaven bought and and fucked it up. 

In town The Phoenix, Tickety Boos are both good, Duke's Corner should suit you beer wise

The Trades, Old Bank, Molly Malones(used to be the Globe) were all good pubs the Belhaven have fucked up but good for live sport.

I've not actually eaten out much in Dundee the last few years so there might be gems I'm unaware of. I've heard good things about the Gidi Grill but I've never been. I like the Manchurian but the wife refuses to go as she has doubts about the kitchen.
