I got a brilliant compilation years ago with motown/soul folk doing beatles/stones/neil young etc covers. 

Cant remember what its called but its banging.

Bit of a disservice to their country classics like Dead Flowers, Far away eyes etc. 
 

id say they were pretty versatile at their peak, though you always know when it’s them.

Thats what they started out as. Their first LP was all covers bar 1 or 2 tunes.
