It's hardly his fault he is part of a family where his dad and uncle played for the huns for many years. At the end of the day he did well for AFC which is the most important thing. If every signing we made was as successful as Ferguson we would be very well set as a club.

At the end of the day if we are going to continue to try and sign promising young Scottish talent with the aim of developing them and selling on for tidy profit then people need to accept that a large percentage of those players will have grown up supporting one of the ugly sisters. That's just Scotland for you. It's reality. McKenna supported Celtic Ferguson the huns but as young players both made over 100 appearances for AFC and made us millions in the transfer market which is the only thing that truly matters. Most players that play for AFC were never fans of the club.

This. 100%.

Hope he has a decent career & never plays for Sevco. Glad the Ferguson saga will soon be over for us though. Regardless of other’s opinions, I still think he will be harder to replace than many believe but not so much if we use funds.

Couldn’t give a fuck what he does now. He will obviously play for them at some point considering he’s a rabid hun.

A very limited player imo. He won’t pull up any trees at Bologna and end up at Hull City or such shite.

Italian fitba is shite. He'll easily get on and win a move to a shite english team (that are less shite than Hull)

Hope that happens. Great move for him. Great money for us. Potential of a further sell on.

An unbelievably successful signing. Hardly anyone even noticed when he was snapped up from accies

hardly - it was back and forth with Hamilton whining about the development fee, and we knew we were going to be paying 150k/200K - i even knew about about it sitting in Cape Town, 5000 miles away

Will be a lot more difficult to replace than people seem to be suggesting, there’s a reason we are getting around £3m for him, still only 22 and has been undoubtedly one of our best players the past few years.  Great to see Scottish clubs finally start to get decent money for their assets, hopefully this summer sets a bit of a benchmark on values as well as an end to clubs selling to the ugly sisters on the cheap.

An end to selling to the ugly sisters full stop. Would rather take less money and punt the player to another league than do business with either of those horrible cunts.

Yes, pretty sure 5% goes to each developing club.

When Armstrong left Celtic, Dyce Boys Club got 6 figure sum.

I believe the 5% is a solidarity payment that is divided between all the clubs that the player trained with between 12 and 23.

Each year between clubs who the player trained with between the ages of12 and 15 are entitled to 5% of the solidarity fee and between the ages of 16 and 23 its10%.

If the fee is £3m then £150k would be set aside, if he trained with the huns between 12 and 16, they'd be entitled to £30k, Hamilton had him as until he was 18 and would be entitled to £30k.

Obviously if Hamilton have a sell on clause, they'll get some additional money.
