RUL
Our under 18s seem pretty good. Hopefully some that can make a step up to the first team squad in a year or two? Our U18's are very good. It's a case of when they get a chance. Connor Barron is the stand out and will be getting first team games before end of season. Link to comment

graham
Aberdeen Reserves played Rangers Reserves at the Rangers training ground on Monday. It was a fairly enjoyable and entertaining game.Rangers winning 2-1 with a goal in the last minute.Aberdeen took the lead with a fine turn and shot from Lloyd Robertson after Connor McLennan and Dean Campbell had combined well with Dean's pass an example of his fine passing and distribution the over an hour he played.First time I had seen Michael Ruth and was quite impressed.Sometimes, odd, awkward running style, but some great skills and close control on the left wing.A right back played as Trialist for the Young Don's and had a good game.Irish centre half Luke Turner sported a beard that John Greig himself would have been proud of circa 1972.Rangers young sub Ross McCausland turned the game and scored a superb 25 yard strike and Ciaran Dickson fired home Rangers winner right at the end.First time I have watched Bruce Anderson in a reserve match for ages and he had not obliged with a goal.Aberdeen definitely deserved a draw overall. RUL
Sounds like a good outing. Not sure if confirmed but think U18's finish the year tomorrow with a game at Morton. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
From the little I’ve seen of him Ruth seems to have a good head on him (not just the hair). Clever. Seemed to know where to be and when to be there. Link to comment

sooth_stander
I suspect he (Ruth) will get some game time towards end of season in first team. There's nothing in McInnes' DNA that would make me agree with that comment. Ahead of Bruce Anderson, who gets fuck all game time? Link to comment

I think Ruth style appeals to McInnes more than Bruce. Cannot see how Bruce will stay at Aberdeen long term under McInnes. Link to comment

Dons79
Should be an immediate starter behind cosgrove in my opinion as our other striking options are just shite!, much better player than main and has a far better attitude than Wilson 2 Link to comment

slippers
How’s Calvin Ramsey doing? Was he the lad that plays fullback and was going to be in Europa squad but was too young at start of season at 15? Not been involved very much since he turned 16? Odd statement to make at time if he isn’t going to feature. Link to comment

graham
It is a wee bit odd the match is not at Cormack Park.It hosted the Youth Cup tie with Montrose, which possibly turned out a closer and more exciting match than we maybe anticipated. The prestigious occasion of a quarter final sees a return to Balmoral Stadium and Cove Rangers !.....Calvin Ramsey outstanding for U18s and a real prospect. graham
I do not know what contract Calvin Ramday might be on, hopefully a long one.He is progressing all the time.He has been a consistent full back and game v Inverness Caley U18s before Christmas looked the part at centre half.Getting game time for the reserves,Scotland youth teams. Probbably don't hear so much about him as he is a defender and does that job well.Originally from Cove,so a game at Cove Rangers ground will be fine for him. Link to comment

Excellent v BK Hacken, superb v Dundee United.Always really encouraging and heartening to see young local players come through and do well. 1 Link to comment
