graham
Kevin is a good player, but he is struggling for game time at Forfar, coming on after the hour at the weekend. The one I have high hopes for as the breakthrough player this year is Ryan Duncan. Link to comment

Yes, agree with that, but with the plethora of wingers at Pittodrie now, Duncan’s not going to get much game time, is he? Cove are short on numbers, might be a good move for him, for 6 months anyway The U18s are in action this afternoon, away to Celtic I think Link to comment
graham
The signing of these household names and superstars Shayden Morris and Callum Roberts is not good news for Ryan Duncan, and indeed my old hero Connor McLennnan. A manager will always play his own marvellous new signings before existing youngsters at the club.Under 18s defeat at Barrowfield today probably a more accurate reflection of how the team is doing than the exceptional 9-0 win over St Mirren at Cormack Park in the opening league match . Tommy
Apparently the score didn’t reflect the actual game. We started with a 14 year old while Celtic utilised an experienced squad. According to AFC report on game. Link to comment
graham
Aberdeen are always starting with 14 year olds and playing very young sides and then getting well beat .Young 14 year old Jamie Mercer was taken off at half time.Fielding 14 and 15 year olds gives a young Aberdeen side a free pass should they get beat by these vastly experienced 17 year olds. Hibs athletic destroyer (6) is decent but he’s on a knife edge and getting zero protection from Beaton. Link to comment

The game will be played on 9/10 August. The sides also met at the same stage of the competition last season with the young Dons winning 1-0 thanks to Michael Ruth’s second half goal. The winner of that match will play Hearts B or Buckie Thistle in the 2nd Round. Tomorrow night the game, 7.30pm kick off. Link to comment
graham
Michael Ruth at Queen of the South now.A very unlucky Aberdeen career. The pandemic was not kind to him. Outstanding for the Youth and B teams then like Connor Barron denied thanks to the lockdown the chance to play in the Youth Cup final he had helped Aberdeen reach with fine goals v Rangers.Favouritres to win that final v Kilmarnock.Instead , inherited by managers that didn't rate him and drifted out on loan to Arbroath and Falkirk and made his only Aberdeen appearances when he had already been told he was getting freed .
