U18’s won 5-0 at Hamilton tonight.

Duncan doing well but how will he get a chance with our 26 man first team squad? We were told this wouldn't happen.

Any idea what type of player he is? See he's been scoring goals. Is he a creative central midfielder?

Would aberdeen be any worse off incorporating more of these prospects in the youth side

He is an attacking winger (I think?) with a wand of a left foot.

@ericblack4bosswill ken his dad.

He's probably more of a wide player but he's got a great shot on him and good on the ball. Absolutely wasting himself playing u18s football but at least he's showing a good attitude.

Get him in the team. Got to be better than Ojo in that role.

Anyone who thinks Ojo is an attacking midfielder is off their heads.

He's not a football player.

Playing in the first team at a young age did no harm to McLeish, Cooper, Simpson, Black and Hewitt.

If you have the ability, you should be selected. A start has been made with McKenzie and Ramsay and it’s is only right that others should be given an opportunity if playing well for development team.

Disappointed to see Ryan Duncan going out on loan. Would of liked him to be given a chance if he’s an attacking mid/winger as people suggest. Crying out for players in that department! Been on absolute fire on U18s. It’s a big step up but surely not any worse than players like jenks?

It’s only until January. Gives him 15 games or whatever at a higher level than he’s used to.

Think it’s a sensible move.

If the likes of Hedges is sold, Jenks goes back, Kennedy sold etc, then he can maybe come back & step up.

Yeah the move till January suggests they hope he will make the step up and perhaps return to our first team in January.

Hopefully he carries on his impressive development, his head is screwed on so no worries about that.

Is this a new loan or has he been there for a while?

If it's a new loan then maybe they should have given him a shotty first before discounting him for the next few months.

It was done today, through to January.

Hope he does well and comes back even better for the experience.

Thanks.

Aye, totally agree. Good luck to the loon.  Hopefully see him in red in the second half of the season.

It's a good move for the loon. 90 minutes every week in SFL1 will be far better for his development than playing age group football or maybe getting the odd 10-15 minutes once or twice.

If he does well there, he can come back in January and maybe have a decent chance of at least being a regular member of our first team squad.

Luke Turner getting a start for top of the league Cliftonville in Northern Ireland, that's not a bad standard these days, lot of teams in that league we wouldn't live with. I'd like to say I hope he keeps doing well and comes back to get his chance here but he won't. Loan usually spells the end of the road with the dons.

Why did they end the old reserve league? We've got heaps of players hanging around who never get games for the first team but are too old for the youth teams - if they ever are called upon for the first team they're going to be miles away from match fitness. The reserve league gave young players opportunity to play with and against older and better players which is surely much more valuable than just playing people your own age group. I know it's been this way for years, but what was the justification for it?

Pish.

We’d romp the Northern Irish league.
If you’ve ever seen the football there, it makes us look like Barcelona.

Agreed. This current side & manager wouldn’t even ‘romp’ the Scottish championship. Raith Rovers are enough proof of that.

Dinnae worry Ryan's family will make sure his feet are kept on the ground,

Doing Donside and us teuchters proud, certainly better than the Donside teuchter chairman that used to inhabit the club

Celtic and rangers pulled out of it to play friendlies against “top” European teams did they not? Then shortly after we and a few other followed suit. I agree though a chance for players to play against older players. Duncan is clearly way to good for u18s but will see how he fair at league 1 level. Fingers crossed.
