Providing he puts the effort this season that will be more important than the 200k that Blackburn offered us which was a derisory sum.

It was £500k I’m sure?

He’s clearly going to leave.

No Dons player worth a decent fee should be allowed to enter the last 12 months of their contract without either signing another or being sold.

Poor management of the situation IMO.

Word on deadline day was that they'd offered in the region of 200k.

Which we'll hardly miss.

The real issue is that if he wasn't going to sign then we should have brought in a replacement prior to the window closing which would then have allowed him to leave for a fee.

But he may have led the club to believe he was interested in extending to see what we put on the table. Ideally the offer should have been made to him in May, not August.

What would give you that indication? There's more clubs that just the Hun that would take interest in our out of contract players

Just a hunch that they might fancy him on free or small fee in January. Not based on anything concrete.

Much of what is posted here is opinion. It's not a court of law where everything needs to be evidenced.

Either scenario is poor management.

If he was intimating he was interested, he should’ve been told sign by, say 25th August, or you can leave.

And as you say, they shouldn’t be waiting until August if that’s what they’ve done.

We should never be in a position where players who can command good fees are let go for fuck all.

Aye.

The lack of quality attacking/creative midfielder signings has been the biggest disappointment of this transfer window.

Let's see what January brings
