Chewie37 932 Posted June 23, 2019 Imagine actually thinking that. Boys played about 40 competitive games for an MLS Second team and 80 college games which are on par with Sunday League. Hope he’ll be good, imagine he’ll be shite.I wouldn’t write off lower league American Football completely. The lower leagues are pretty decent level here as it’s actually a very popular sport to play, which surprised me back in 2001 when we played some local teams and they were phenomenal. The College teams attract a lot of players from the British Isles too who go over on scholarships as a method of breaking into professional leagues as well as an education Hope he’s good too imagine he’ll take a while to get up to speed though Share this post Link to post

The standard is dire. Share this post Link to post
Poodler 2,972 Posted June 23, 2019 It OK. It's a'project'Project - fancy term for taking a punt on the unknown. Dons should be above this. Share this post Link to post
Tord31 719 Posted June 23, 2019 This seems a very odd signing. The guy is 23 and never played in a professional football match. Sorry but we have signed one decent player in 5 thus far.You dont seem sorry Share this post Link to post

slippers 255 Posted June 23, 2019 I have a friend who’s brother plays for a college team over there on a scholarship. The standard is dire. What division does he play in? The top divisions would be a pretty good standard. Highland league or better. Obviously not the level of spl. But the very top college teams would give our u19/21s a very decent game. To say it’s dire is a bit of a exaggeration. No doubt there would be some diamonds to be found just like there would be in the English conference but would be few and far between. Parklife 751 Posted June 23, 2019 If he makes more than 5 appearances, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Share this post Link to post

Zeus 1,226 Posted June 23, 2019 As all will give him a chance (5 mins) before I decide if he’s shite. Hopefully a surprise but doubt he’ll get much game time Share this post Link to post
slippers 255 Posted June 23, 2019 (edited) So we've signed the equivalent of a 23 year old Highland league player theni would take a guess that’s he’s better than tht but no idea if he’s anywhere good enough for our first team. You have players like Mitchel Megginson playing for cove in highland league up until last year who has turned down a number of championship and a prem team to play there. There is players in HL that could play a lot higher standard. Edited June 23, 2019 by slippers Share this post Link to post

Tord31 719 Posted June 23, 2019 So we've signed the equivalent of a 23 year old Highland league player thenwhich we would do if any highland league player had a dad who had a pal that was willing to fire him a few million to the club Share this post Link to post
aberdeen1970 2,403 Posted June 23, 2019 which we would do if any highland league player had a dad who had a pal that was willing to fire him a few million to the clubI'll expect another Myles Anderson then Share this post Link to post
Tord31 719 Posted June 23, 2019 I'll expect another Myles Anderson thenI already wrote that in the first few posts. Willing him to get on though so hopefully we are 3 or 4 up on the 11th and can give him a run Share this post Link to post
King Street Loon 1,983 Posted June 23, 2019 (edited) He'll get token run outs at best.A typical McInnes sub with 8-9 mins to go.The only way he'll get a start is if Logan gets injured. Edited June 23, 2019 by King Street Loon Share this post Link to post
SheepieBaaBaa 253 Posted June 23, 2019 Did Darren Mackie not play at the same level as this chap?He did and was totally out of his depth and was sent home...so....worst case scenario he's better than Darren Mackie at least. Share this post Link to post
Sheepo 346 Posted June 23, 2019 I am sure Bobby Clark and Cormack have had an input in this signing and think the lad has talent, whether he can transfer this talent to Scotland is the question to be answered Share this post Link to post
fine-n-dandy 921 Posted June 23, 2019 I am sure Bobby Clark and Cormack have had an input in this signing and think the lad has talent, whether he can transfer this talent to Scotland is the question to be answeredA sensible post among a lot of assumptions that he is shite. I will wait & see how this goes before writing him off. There could be any number of other reasons for this loan other than because he's shite.I think if the reason for it is because he's shite then Cormack will lose a lot of face from it. This could be the start of many experimental loans of players to raise their profiles & give them experience I don't think they would want to start that experiment off with a shite player tbh Share this post Link to post
V for Vendetta 1,369 Posted June 23, 2019 I am sure Bobby Clark and Cormack have had an input in this signing and think the lad has talent, whether he can transfer this talent to Scotland is the question to be answeredExactly this. Makes it quite an interesting one to watch but not an immediate pulse quickener like Brysons acquisition. Share this post Link to post
aberdeen1970 2,403 Posted June 23, 2019 Nae sure Cormack is much of an expert at scouting for footballers though? Share this post Link to post

super_al 278 Posted June 23, 2019 "Decent"? "DECENT"? bearing in mind decent means average, who is the 1 average signing?By “decent” I mean most Aberdeen fans would be happy with that player signing. Main, Taylor, Hedges and Gallagher are underwhelming to say the least. Yes they may turn out fine but right now most of us will be underwhelmed. Share this post Link to post
