Betty Swallicks
I don't think its strange or weird. Clearly not really our player, we never paid for him so there is nothing to get back. As @The Gee Man said, thank fuck its over. 1 Link to comment
ShinnieFGS
The only part of the Ronny Hernandez deal that makes any sense is that it was definitely some dodgy, loophole way of getting him onto Atlanta's books. Will be surprised if the permanent switch announcement is the last time we hear about the deal. Huge sum of money and a four-and-a-half year deal for a South American player plucked out of the Norwegian wilderness. Don't doubt that COVID-19 and the lockdowns played a part in him becoming homesick, but it's fairly obvious that he wasn't a McInnes signing. Link to comment

Probably was supposed to tune up in Aberdeen and then a quick switch to ATL. Maybe covid was to blame, but Aberdeen never got any benefit out of it. Like not even a half season of good football. My guess is ATL isn't even that high on him anymore. That would explain the loan as they looked for buyers. The new manager they brought in was told to play him. No takers so they ended up finalizing the original deal to get him off the books in Scotland. Just Proves McInnes and the club were talking bs on their scouting. ATL UTD puppets. No more. RED_JOHN
As brought to you exclusively months ago. Hernandez was never coming back to Aberdeen. He was always destined for Atlanta the day they helped fork out for his transfer. Business is business….we done them a favour looking after him as everything was cosha. That was always our part of the prawcess. 1 Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
And that part I didn’t have an issue with. Hardly had to be Stephen Hawking to work that bit out. It’s the bit where we were told we had an 800k international full back on the bench, sometimes not even that and we were somehow choosing not to play him in a team with no full backs that we struggled with. Arguable to the degree Dereks hands were tied and in fairness he did try him there (against the hun as I recall). Link to comment

super_al
Cormack paid for Ronnie so I doubt he will let him leave for nothing. On a side note, based on the transfer fee and the lack of games he played, is Ronnie the worst signing in the clubs history? 1 Link to comment
Dave Bus
Don’t know why so many people still believe there’s a conspiracy to it, as if it’s the only explanation. What about we paid 850,000 for him (probably based on Atlanta’s scouting recommendation). Shite in training and the limited games. Gets farmed out on loan as any flop usually does, plays a bit better for Atlanta and joins them permanently. See Maryan Shved at Celtic for a similar example. Link to comment

Andy_123
Thought the clubs accounts showed a loan or something coming in for the exact amount we paid for Hernandez at the time? I’d be surprised if we’ve lost any money on transfer fees with him. Link to comment

Not sure what creative accounting will be involved in detailing that reciprocated deal? Link to comment
