Agree that the stars were all aligned for England to win, they had the firepower but chose to keep it confined to the bench until far too late. You’d think they’d learn to throw caution to the wind rather than let it reach the lottery of pens.

Whether Southgate can get any more out of this squad I don’t know. There’s not really any one international side that stands out above all others right now.
