Just bonkers we gave him a short term deal to prove his fitness and he's not played for us and only reutrned to training a few weeks ago didnt he? Link to comment

As with McGeough, Hayes, McGinn, Considine and Hedges. Havent heard a cheap regarding Devlin for weeks now, assume he’s had another setback? I think Kennedy strained his back modelling the AFC Xmas jumper. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Devlin was a good signing at the time that hasn't worked out due to injuries. I feel for the lad. Kennedy was a poor signing from the outset and yet another level down from the wingers we'd had previously. 1 Link to comment
Ten Caat
Devlin was always a risk Remember he had fucked his cruciate when we signed him (and we paid Hamilton a fee to bring him in early so we could oversee his rehab). I hope we avoid ever taking such risks again Link to comment
Millertime
He must have other issues outwith the physical The fact journos have clearly been told not to ask about him suggests that Link to comment

RED_JOHN
Mikey Devlin is going to surprise you lot by being fit enough to sign a new contract until the summer. Glass likes his attitude and desire to push himself to get fit after such a horrific injury. Future captain of the Dons Link to comment

Future captain of the Dons When you say "fit enough to sign a new contract" I take it you mean fit enough to lift the pen and sign on the dotted line, rather than fit enough to actually play a game of football? We basically gave him a 6 month contract in the summer and have got nothing at all out of him - I'd have had him on redtv every week to save paying whoever else we've had on, and I'd have had him cleaning the toilets and serving the pies as well. Na. He's from Motherwell/Hamilton so likely not wash his hands. 2 1 Link to comment

Yes, I meant lifting a pen to sign a new deal. As long as someone can wheel him into the cupboard as close to the contract paper as possible I am sure he could stretch over (gently) and sign on the dotted line. Link to comment
StandFree1982
We've had some right bad luck with players and injury, or rather stupid decision making by the management signing up the cripples in the first place! Certain players are unlucky, Considine for example, but then you've got McInnes signing guys like May and Hoban, both had long term injuries, and expecting anything less than 80% of their time on the injury table. Did Kennedy have injury problems prior to signing for us? Wouldn't be surprised. Link to comment

Sometimes the gamble won't pay off and we'll be stuck with a cripple for most of his career... and then give him an extension. Link to comment

At the very best we should offer him the facilities to get fit when he's recovered. Shouldn't be paying him a penny after his January contract ends. Link to comment

Torry Tosser
Actually feel sorry for him. The constant injuries, must affect him in different ways, surely depression when he can't just get on with what he likes to do and that is play footie. Agree like that we can't give him another contract, maybe his luck will change at another club. Link to comment
