League One and League Two clubs given the green light to return to training.

There could be matches as soon as Wednesday 17th March for those clubs. The date is to be confirmed.

Highland League clubs involved in the Scottish cup also get to return to training.

 

Following this announcement there is a half chance they could get through the Scottish Cup this season if they want to.

It was going to be tatties if they had to wait until the end of lockdown but this news gives them a fair chance.

Third Round: Saturday, 3 April
Fourth Round: Saturday, 17 April
Fifth Round: Saturday, 24 April
Semi-Finals: 8 & 9 May
Final: Saturday, 22 May

Post split fixtures are already planned for 17 and 24 April so guess there will be movement there.

We are due to visit the winner of Dumbarton v Huntly on Saturday 3 April.

Brilliant.  A cup competition will be a welcome distraction to the league campaign we've been having to endure lately. 

Going to be a tough ask for the teams in the lower divisions to get a fit team together after being out for so long though.

The Scottish Cup winner will take the Europa PO place (with the comfort knowing they'll be in either Europa Groups or ECL Groups and guaranteed europe to mid December as a minimum)

If the Scottish Cup is won by one of the top two then that places goes to 3rd in the league.
