BonnieDon
Orlando City winger Chris Mueller has attracted interest from Belgium. According to a report by The Athletic, RSC Anderlecht, KV Oostende, and OH Leuven have shown serious interest in the 25-year-old forward. The report further adds that Leuven have already made a formal offer for the winger but Orlando have been unwilling to entertain a transfer. Mueller has had a phenomenal 2020 campaign and increased his market value to $3.85 million. This season the winger has scored two goals and four assists and is a big part of an Orlando side that is currently pushing for a top spot in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer. As a result, Orlando are somewhat reluctant to move the player. Another issue is Mueller's contract. The 25-year-old will be a free agent this winter and, in theory, could already sign a contract with a new club ahead of a January 1, 2022 move. Orlando can, therefore, not expect a major transfer fee should they opt to sell Mueller now. Mueller, according to The Athletic, would prefer a summer move to give him time to integrate into his new side. This appears to be a real coup of a signing for Hibs. Link to comment

A front 3 of Boyle, Nisbet & this lad is more than decent. Assuming neither Boyle or Nisbet leaves, obviously. If he’s as good as he’s made out, Hibs can sell him on pretty sharpish for a chunky fee. With our knowledge of the American market you’d have thought we’d have shown an interest? Link to comment

My understanding was free agents could be registered at any time but I've never looked into it in any great depth Only if he became a free agent within the transfer window - so contract would need to be terminated prior to the 31st August or whenever the window closes. Aye, a more than decent right winger when you do some digging on him, and a position we lack in. (In quality, not numbers). Would’ve been a good signing. Link to comment

This just makes Cormack's boasts look even more ridiculous especially given his US connections. And its Hibs that are signing this guy, meanwhile we get Jack Gurr and 4 years out of date Rameriz. Maybe McInnes wasn't the problem behind our signing strategy. 2 Link to comment

Especially when you consider the starting points of the relevant squads, Hibs have done much better than us. And we allegedly have (or at least had) a bigger budget than them. Why are they beating us to the best talent in Scotland and now the US, a market where we're supposed to have our finger on the pulse more than anybody else? Its fucking criminal. 2 Link to comment

Hibs know they will be selling at least one of Doig, Porteous ( no laughing at the back) Boyle or Nisbett for serious money so will have cash on the hip to make at least one major signing. Hibs wernt that far ahead of us last season. In the 4 games we played against them it was 2 wins a peace with aggregate score of 3-3. Even the last game where we lost 1-0 I thought they were pretty poor and we could of got a result. Link to comment
Robin Askwith
I for one am not pi5hing my punts that Hibs have signed a winger with a ratio of 1 goal in every 5 games to his name. I’m more than impressed with what we’ve signed, versus What Hibs have done in the transfer window. f*ck Hibs, we’ll smash them this season, mark my words. 1 Link to comment
Guest
Wouldn't say I'm pishing my pants over it but it's a very good signing for them, on paper. They valued him at £3,000,000 and he's got a very good goal to game record at a similar level to ours. Compare our wide players; JET- 30 Mcginn- 34 Hayes-34 McLennan- Not shown he's anywhere near good enough Hedges- Our best player and probably away. Find it bizarre this guy hasn't become an Aberdeen player with our links to that league, and the fact one of our direct rivals were in for him. Bizarre. Link to comment
Zeus
He's rubbish. Not good enough for us. 1 Link to comment

Well you may be right, but if you do genuinely think that 20 goals and 22 assists in 96 games (63 starts) for a winger is not good enough then I applaud you for maintaining high standards, but would suggest that you don't do any research on the players we have on the books as what you will find will make you thoroughly depressed. Yeah but what does competitive mean. He could reduce it to £6.9M and still argue that its competitive. Tbh given they way things are going it would probably be more comforting to hear that our budget has been reduced, as that might at least provide an explanation for our transfer activity that doesnt involve us being shit at identifying players. 2 Link to comment

Tough one this. I don’t think we have had a particularly bad window on paper but a lot hinges on Jenks and Ramirez being any use. But what has killed us is Glass and Cormack promising big signings and spending to accumulate. I think brown is a big signing but the rest aren’t. Absolute no way you can class Ramirez a player that hasn’t been able to hold down a regular place in starting lineup a big signing. That’s not to say he’s not going to be good but it’s very risky looking at his pedigree last 2/3 seasons. If Ramirez isn’t a hit we are in a terrible position. Link to comment
