The way that Glass shapes us up doesn’t appear to rely on pace or width, seems to be far more about possession with 3 strapped across the midfield. Reminds me of the better days of Alex Smith’s tenure.

That said, why was he expecting Ojo, for example, to burst past the opposition full back, on thu night?

Maybe the expectation would be for Watkins or Hedges to do that?

Why do you think he was in for Martin Boyle?

Cormack must see Bates as a big signing announcing him on his own Twitter even though we all already knew he was signing, can’t comment on Bates myself not seen him play since his Scotland caps but remember him doing well when he first went to Hamburg, but hopefully turns out a good signing

Ferguson out, McGrath and Hamilton in would round that off nicely.

I don't think we'll re-invest any money if Ferguson goes. Maybe 1 more loanee CH but that'll be it. Hjelde at Leeds was doing the rounds. Not sure if there's anything in that but Leeds signed him for their U23 squad. Maybe if we offer him 1st team football Leeds would be happy with that? Done well at Ross County last year.

Even if/when  Ferguson goes, we are still overloaded with midfielders. I think we'll risk leaving McGrath till January and sign him up on a pre-contract if he's still available

I would rather have signed Hamilton than Bates but now that we have signed Bates, if we signed Hamilton as well (someone said Accies were asking too much so it's unlikely to happen now anyway) I think he'd be behind Gallagher and Bates initially anyway and reserve football isn't really much use to him so probably as well just leaving him alone for now and get more first team experience at Hamilton. Again, he could then be snapped up on a pre-contract in January if he continues to progress and join up next summer (Considine should be gone by then, either into retirement or playing a season or 2 more with a lower league side) with a genuine chance of a starting place ahead of Gallagher or Bates. If someone pays what Hamilton are asking tomorrow then good luck to the loon.

That's probably why we've signed Longstaff. A direct replacement for Ferguson. No other midfielder we have could cover the Ferguson role i don't think. We are hedging our bets on McGrath not being sold. I think there will be a bid from a Championship team for him and St Mirren will sell him.

Me too.

a think McGrath n Hamilton will both be snapped up next few days. The later by Hibs which would make it worse.

Hibs going for Hamilton might very well happen considering they have been going after McCart but been unable to agree a fee. They are also trying to sign some Swedish LB. I wonder if we will up our interest in the LB from Breidablik? Ingvarsson. MacKenzie obviously first choice but Hayes shouldn't be near the LB spot even as backup.

They have had a 3rd bid for McCart rejected and Kerr has rejected another contract from them too. Charlton have put in a bid for Kerr.

I knew Kerr had rejected a contract from Hibs a while ago. Must have been a properly shite contract considering he's a boyhood hibs fan ?

That's Bates officially announced. Glass also referring to more ins and outs in the papers today. Who do we think is heading out? Ferguson and Kennedy obvious candidates. Maybe a loan for Campbell? Who knows who else we may bring in.

Aye he's rejected a 2nd offer this weekend from them. Offer was for less than what is he on at Saints.

Don't know exact figures; but it definitely was lower which is why he told them to poke it.

Obviously thought as he's a fan he'd want to play for them regardless of the money. We should slap a bid in now and sign him and we can add him to the ever growing list of players who turn Hibs down for The Famous.

His family are big Hibees not too sure he is as bothered. He has rejected an extension with St Johnstone too.

A bit of longer-term planning would be good.

There’s a good chance Considine might be in his last season given he’s just had a cruciate injury.

What would Jamie Hamilton be? £200k with add ons?

We could happily lose Kennedy, McGinn, maybe a loan or two as well? Dean Campbell needs to be playing for his own sake - get him a good loan move?

So next season you’re looking at Gallagher, Bates, Hamilton & McCrorie as your central defensive options.

How good is the Hamilton accies midfield.

Wouldn’t be against Aberdeen throwing Campbell in on a season long loan as well as cash for Hamilton
