We're paying a fee for this striker that's coming in.

we also offered money for that boy from st mirren.

there is also the out of contract market to consider. Loans aren't our only option.

I think you're talking pish

Gee man is one of those guys that sit behind you at the football and give a minute by minute update of the scores in EPL, imo.

We need two strikers at least (not including Ramirez yet)

We really could do with a winger if we have ambitions of improving.

We really could do with two centre backs (is Devlin one?)

I'd have a preference to sign one proper experienced full back but sounds like we are gonna have to let that slide.

So probably four players (two strikers, one centre back and one winger) before the exodus and then once we get shot of a few of the also rans we can bring in a couple more.

I guess we can start the season with our full back options as is and see if that needs adjusted nearer the deadline

So far the signings have been ones that the mcinnes would probably have made - Gallagher and JET and American based from the Glass / Russel influence - Gurr and Ramirez.

Jenks maybe has come through Russell’s knowledge from the English setup.

I’m still waiting to see Brown’s contacts bearing fruit… he was supposed to have been lining up some players and Cormack made a big deal of how having Brown would help attract players. No sign of that so far.

From the comments McInnes made about Jet when he was match analsyer in the cup game against Livi i don't think he would have ever signed him.  Said something about although he could be a matchwinner and talented on the ball he could also be the biggest weakness for Livi as he doesnt work hard or ever help close anyone down to help the team out when they are without the ball.

Del preffered a hard worker like Curtis Main who worked hard but was useless on the ball. ?‍♂️

If Glass wants to implement a high press, starting with the front players, then this suggests JET is not right for that role.

Strikes me he’s fairly talented & strong, but immobile & a bit lazy.

Aye, I’d agree.

You’d assume he’s after a left centre back as he tried to get Clark Robertson.

A winger with pace, and two strikers (that would include Ramirez).

Ferguson could be sold before the window shuts, which might mean some movement late on.

IF Ferguson is to be sold it would’ve been better it was done early, as they might mean wee upgrades in who we target.
If he wants away, the sooner the better really.

Gallagher? Both at celtic and both played for Scotland..

Maybe - but he's the kind of signing we'd have made regardless of whether Brown was here I reckon.

Wonder if Brown could persuade the wee Dembele dude to join us for a couple years - I reckon he'd shift some season tickets. He was getting linked with a move to some team in Norway or Denmark I think.

Correct age too, matches our profile.

I agree especially now that Watkins is out of contract so no fee and no great risk as we know what he can do. His workrate and movement were phenomenal and he saw passes that others didn't.  We played our best attacking football last season when Watkins was in the team. Watkins/Hedges/Wright were great together and Jenks could take Wright's place. Watkins would create heaps of chances in the box for JET and CR9.

He might not be too keen to see Scott Brown again after he poleaxed him at Hampden and ended his season prematurely. At least he won't have to play against him. We will never know how much better a season we could have had if Watkins had finished the season.

Marvin Johnson, once of Motherwell, recently released by Middlesbrough, age 30, might fit the bill.

We need someone who's fast. He was good with the ball at his feet, not sure he had much pace though, did he? I can't remember.

Another player on big wages and absolutely no sell on value. Not to say he wouldn’t be a decent signing as haven’t seen him in years but we need to sign players with potential that can be sold on.

I'm fed up hearing about resale value. Lets just try and get a competitive team on the park next season and worry about signing players with resale value in the next few transfer windows. We don't even have a head of recruitment in place yet for fuck sake

That all very well had they not said they are going to sign young players and develop them.

Only way we are going to be able to make solid progress and potentially compete on all fronts is if we sell players. Ferguson is the last player of any value. Once he’s gone we have nothing to sell. If we can work our way up the ladder and eventually be able to sell a players for 5-10m a season that makes a colossal difference to our budget.

This suggests he has another year left on his contract at Celtic - www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/karamoko-dembele-celtic-contract-myth-24098124.amp

Can't see us getting him permanently if he is out of contract. Linked with some big clubs and would be a development fee. If he isn't out of contract we would be looking at a loan at best.

We still have some sellable assets aside from Ferguson. The club are clearly hoping that at the end of this season Campbell, McKenzie and Ramsay progress and hold some value.

In May, Ryan Hedges expressed interest in signing a new contract. Steve Gunn has supposedly begun initial negotiations with him. I'd imagine it would be a similar situation to when Hayes signed a new deal with the promise we'd sell him in the summer.
