Just saw a club in Belgium picked up Ramiro Vaca for a reported fee of 150000 euros. According to google translate anyways.

Seems like some of these latin prospects are within Aberdeen's reach.

The president of the strongest in bolivia said Chura and Vaca would not move this summer. I think technically Chura picked up a knock and will miss a game. But adding a teenage CF/CAM already getting nt call ups would be a reasonable move.

Assuming the Vaca deal has a big sell on.

In the last 50 years Hibs have 1 Scottish Cup, 3 League Cups and 2 Championship (First Division) titles and have finished above us 15 time out of 51 attempts since 1970. They've appeared in Europe 16 times (not including Intertoto cup) since 1970.. The Dons over the same period... 3 League titles, 5 Scottish Cups, 5 League Cups and 2 European Trophies... and 32 seasons in Europe.

Even if you're just taking the last 20 years they've still been in our shadow (despite us being awful for a big chunk of that time). They finished above us last season for only the 3rd time in 15 years. In no way can it be classed as even a sideways step.

Do you think someone is going to sign for Aberdeen cause we won the league and European trophies a decade before their ma and da even shagged to conceive them? They’ve hardly been in our shadow the last 20 years, we’ve done absolutely fuck all apart from win 1 league cup. Finish above them regularly in the league but it’s hardly casting a shadow.

no chance anyone would view leaving Hibs to go to Aberdeen as a big step up. We don’t even get as many fans as them. Absolute side step if you move between Aberdeen and Edinburgh clubs. Similar money, you’ll probably finish top 6 and you’ll almost certainly win no silverware! Sad but true

We already signed one of these Latinos.

He is called Hernandez.

If Boyle can force through a move this summer it certainly would not be a sideways move for his bank balance. His stock is at its highest and he would be able to double his money and extend the length of contract by a couple of years

Bit of revisionism going on there. We’ve been miles ahead of Hibs in the past 20 years, a good few of which the tinpot cunts haven’t even been in the same league

If he's good enough to be in the line up and score a goal for ATL UTD, then he's also good enough for AFC.

Aaawww for fucks sake, when was the last time Aberdeen dipped their toe in the South American market?

the strongest lol aye we should hit bolivar for a few players as well.nip across and visit Barcelona Guayaquil get their best young prospect, no worries

we didn’t even get hernandez from South America!, (stabaek) Norway.

I certainly wouldn't like to see us sign McGrath for £800k.

He's got less than a year left on his contract. His true value is probably about £400k but if we sell Ferguson, they'd quote us a higher price knowing we had cash in the bank. He's probably worth going slightly higher for on that basis but no more than £500k. If they want more some other cunts can pay it.

If he's still available in January, offer a pre-contract.

The reality is that £400k is about two league spots.
St Mirren would likely prefer to keep him and get in the top 6 instead

Saavedra would be the guy. Wouldnt miss ferguson if he came

Watkins would be a very good signing as the third striker since he can pick up minutes in different positions and therefore would be involved in every single game.

Hibs fans claiming Boyle will sign a contract in the next 24 hours...... I wonder if they'll be proven right or wrong on that.

I certainly think if there is no Hibs statement this week it says a lot. Big Dave would be forced in to speaking up if the shoe was on the other foot.

Boyle talks been ongoing for a long time. That's not to say it will happen this month

I really don't believe that to be the case. Its widely being reported that Hibs have been in talks with him all summer about an improved contract and change to the terms of his contract. Our bid has ramped up those talks and they hope to be able to announce its finalized in the next 24 hours.

Also see that when Aberdeen put in the bid on they didn't realize that the release clause was only for clubs outside Scotland and it seems like they have put in the bid just from having seen the reports of the release clause in the press. If that is the case it shows we havnt been in talks and to be honest it shows us up to be pretty inept that we have not done our homework before it.

Its also worrying that we appear to have had no real plans in place and done no preparation in case we were to lose Hedges which considering his contact status and the fact we were rejecting bids for him last week is very strange.

How could we "do our homework" on another players contract at another club?

Aberdeen will know fine how the clause works. Their theory will be leak the bid so that another european club makes the £500k bid and if we top it hopefully Hibs will see sense and take the extra money rather than being stubborn.

He may or may not come but I'd be very surprised if he agrees to sign a new deal within the transfer window.

Boyle will be a Dons man whether it's now, January or 2023.

You don't just sign a player in 24 hours, give the club a break. We knew there wouldn't be any signings to add to squad on Thursday but there will be 2/3 added with 1 or 2 going out before window shuts. Hopefully we make the groups and the additions are of real quality.

Marley Watkins hasn’t been offered a contract by Cardiff so a free agent again.

Bring him home.

Its strange that having had him train with them all preseason they signed him on a contact until the end of August last week with a view to a longer term contract. And he was on the bench for them on Saturday then something changed before Tuesday when they decided to release him and let him move on. You would almost think that something has happened with another club offering him a contract for a longer term and he has asked Cardiff to tell him one way or another as to whether he has a future with them. Wonder who the other club could be?

The same way as when Kenny McClean signed we knew what fee would trigger the clause. It would be naïve to think clubs don't talk to players agents usually before they make a move for them.

And if like has been suggested by people on here we had been talking with him for months, you would have thought it might have been mentioned.

Looks to me like we hadn't done this though.
