McInnes would be a hoot - the baying of the orcs however would make that sadly improbable. Given their financial advantage (£23 million debt this year) most folk would produce a top six performance, McInnes would certainly have them in the running whilst bringing his own particular anti-football style. There must surely still be some has beens with hamstring injuries/destroyed knees hoping for a final pay off down Govan way who can put in a good word.

To be fair, the stories around that event point to him probably having accepted the job initially before changing his mind and crawling back to Milne. 

What's unclear is what made him change his mind. Some say it was related to being asked to quit by King so they wouldn't have to pay compensation to Aberdeen.
