Semi final was better by a mile and grateful I was there. Semi final was immense. 3pm Saturday in Edinburgh. Boozed up. 15,000 proper Aberdeen fans at the game. Final was obviously a great occasion but not as good a day out for me. 40,000 “Aberdeen” fans there. Heaps of birds out for a day out and I am aware of a good few aberdonian Celtic fans who went down with their Aberdeen supporting mates for a day out. Think it was just choruses of Stand free and aberdeen, Aberdeen, Aberdeen. Didn’t help that the game was shite, mind you 1 Link to comment

What’s the point in the league and Europe? Why does anyone bother turning up for any game that isn’t a final or league decider? Getting to a final and having the chance to win a cup is better for the club in so many ways than going out at any other time. A final is only good if you win it end of. Unless you enjoy losing them that is.? Link to comment

Dandyesque
So, is there anyone we'd like to go on loan to Killir for 6 months to compete in the run-in? Could be good experience for the likes of Campbell or MacLennan, but the plastic pitch could be a worry. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
I don't think he'll want to be seen to be coming here for favours. More likely to loan from Huns or Celtic. Link to comment

True, but having PPaw miss the final and Hayes go off after 4 mins, seriously curtailed our attacking threat. At that time, we were dangerous on the three behind Rooney, McGinn, PPaw and Hayes. With two of them missing, it meant ICT only really had to nullify McGinn as our main attacking edge, hence it ran out as a stalement Link to comment

I couldn't even point to Walsall on a map, let alone tell you about their recent performances but based on the fact that he was a decent enough centre back when he stuck to the no nonsense stuff. Good luck to the guy. Also, that plastic pitch drivel is very outdated. They're still shite but it's not 2011 anymore my boy. Link to comment

The standard of artificial pitches has improved dramatically over the last decade. They're no longer like playing in an Asda car park. I'm sure Rugby Park actually has one of the best gradings in the UK Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Artificial pitches are more synonymous with joint injuries rather than muscle injuries though. Knees, ankles, hips. I agree that injuries are generally overstated with artificial pitches otherwise everyone at Hamilton, Kilmarnock etc would be dropping like flies on a regular basis. Don't recall them having a worse injury record than ourselves for example Link to comment

ShinnieFGS
Got a pal who works as a Physio and I recall him saying that the top flight clubs mugged them all off a few years back when Brendan Rodgers et al were kicking off about the artificial pitches. Ask any Physio/Sports Scientist and I'm sure they'd choose a pitch like Rugby Park over some of the tattie fields we've seen before in Perth, Dingwall, Dundee etc. Link to comment
