Good shout min. Add Jerry Yates, who had a fantastic season for the Seasiders last season, along with Kenny Dougall (fantastic in the play-off final) to the list of potential options and if any of them did sign it certainly would be an improvement on who we currently have.

Think Yates just signed a new deal.

Aye, he might be a decent choice.

Tapping into English clubs at the top level to pick up young players who don't quite make it there wouldn't be a bad policy for us to have.

Actually, looking at when he started at Blackpool it wasn't until Oct 2019 so he wasn't involved in taking Kaikai there. Certainly looks to have done a lot with taking younger players from EPL teams though.

Was reading that he also was a European scout for Cardiff and looked after the spanish market for them when they were in the EPL so might have some contacts over there although they would be in a different range to signing the likes of Medel for 11million.

This article gives a bit of a lowdown on his recruitment last year - https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/how-blackpool-used-league-two-freebies-and-loans-to-reach-wembley-play-off-final-a-lesson-for-portsmouth-recruitment-3249874

Really enlightening article min, just shows you what can be done with a set-up of intelligent recruitment, management, and coaches.

These words within the article hit the mark perfectly....

‘It’s down to a manager and his coaches to train players to become better."

Such a simple philosophy to adopt and put into place but hardly any club does it.
