Just an example,  but the average age of womans USA  team is 21.  They usually look like muscley 12 year olds though.

I've no issue with her pulling out, if you're not coping under the pressure - well within your rights to do so, but you then have to be prepared for a backlash. As theres millions been pumped into people seeing her (sponsors). It was just weird, and after pulling out, don't then try make it about you when your team mates got the silver and not you. 

Agreed, she shouldn’t have started the team event, selfish and arrogant to do so. She could have flagged the issue before and left the team to prepare properly. Storming about the place was just embarrassing.
 

Would be like Scott Brown coming off injured in the first minute of a cup final with an injury he knew he had. 
left her team right in the shit unnecessarily.

due to being cooped up, I’ve seen loads of the gymnastics and pool. Some of the gymnasts were bloody ace (though a bit young) and there were some cracking arses in the diving. Haven’t watched the novelty ‘sports’ like skateboarding or ping pong though.
And watched it all on Eurosport to avoid the insufferable Clare Balding

Its a strange one. Already being labelled as brave and courageous for her decision with not a bad word said about it. Well you can't these days can you. 5 years building toward it and actually, nah, can't hack it today girls - yer on yer own - sub in the other black gymnast . Still stepped up for a medal though.

Aye,  I noticed the whole narrative on the news was about how incredibly brave she was,  and I was thinking  'eh!?  She fuckin bottled it,  that's the opposite of brave!'.

I'd say that she's extremely brave for continuing to compete after the abuse she suffered from the team doctor, I'd also say that the situation isn't as black and white as some make out, she needs certain drugs to keep her right, drugs that she can't take when competing in Japan.  I don't think she really knows what is going on, it can't be easy to be relying on these tablets then have them taken from you at such a high pressure time in her life/career.
