Off to Leicester for a reunion with Brenda?

Wonder how much of a pay off he’s accepted from us, and how much he’s cost us overall for his 9 months of “service”?

Can't really blame him if he's going there. It could have waited until summer to be sorted though, him leaving between transfer windows doesn't sit well with me(unless you are JET, Ojo, Devlin, Mclennan, Jenks).

The Scottish Cup semi against Hibs was fuckin great. Despite the SFAs best efforts to ruin it as a spectacle.

6pm kick off on a Sunday at Hampden. And rather than selling our tickets in one large block for each stand we got, we were scattered all over the shop in fairly small clusters.

The victory was all the sweeter after the cocky Hibs cunts trying to take the piss beforehand for more of them making the arduous 50 mile hour-long trip from Edinburgh, than we took.

One of the few highlights of the Ebbe era, second only to the 2-nil win against the Tims .....the sna’ba game

Loved both of them. The sna’ba game enhanced even more by the twinkle toes of ‘dadi, dadi, who’s yet fucking dadi’….

Why do you have so much hate for the man?

Nothing shows the influence of MillerTime on this messageboard more than the Hicham Zerouali situation. An unbelievably popular player while here. Fans literally bowing to him in the stands, which I have never seen for a single player since. Tragically died only 27.... yet everyone on this message board thinks he was shite now purely cause MillerTime annoys them ?

You're right, we're no Partick Thistle. Our majestic haul of 2 league cups in the last 31 years just proves we are a giant of Scottish football.

Quite depressing. We probably should do the conga next time we make the Scottish Cup final.... cause in 22 attempts since that conga we have made the final a grand total of once. Embarrassing. Less than Falkirk.

Its highly depressing. My dad was never into football so only started going regualarly with my pals when i was 10/11 (1987/88). Just missed the glory years of Fergie but the cup double of 89/90 had me thinking there was still plenty good times to come. Since then 2 League Cups. We;ve had more relegation battles than trophies in the last 30 years.... and yet many of our fans still like to think of us as a big club.

We are a big club. In Scottish football terms. Definitely in the top 10% of big clubs.

Aberdeen aren’t a big club in Scotland? You are just being silly now.

And the point I was making that you are finding so hard to grasp is on the basis is that for some reason finding some infantile  joy in a celebration of our shitiness is fucking embarrassing. We should have way more pride than that and behaving like that is just reinforcing the arse cheeks opinion  of every other team in Scotland including Aberdeen being to use their vernacular a diddy team. That behaviour simply serves to reinforce and give justification to their position that we are a diddy team. Just because we were playing in a manner befitting that description didn’t mean we had to fucking accept it .

It all depends how you class big. Are we bigger than the Dundee clubs? Yes. Bigger than the Edinburgh clubs? Debatable. Not even close to the Glasgow clubs.

Sad as it is there are 2 fairly big clubs in Scotland. The rest are varying levels of shite.

That's pretty much the way I have come to see it. The Glasgow pair are on another level in comparison to anything else in Scottish football.  They're miles ahead and moving even further ahead, they have never been so out of sight as they are right now. For everyone else there is no money in Scottish football.

The Glasgow two can and do spend millions on a single player,  will probably do it every Summer window. They can approach £20 million spending between them in a single window. While the rest of Scottish football combined wont even spend 1 million .

There is so little money in Scottish football outside those two it's become probably about as competitive in a sense than it's ever been. We all go on about how Aberdeen have a bigger budget and that should make a difference. The thing is in the economics of the modern game that budget advantage is fractional at best. Either of the Glasgow duo could spend as much or more on a single player than the entire Aberdeen budget.

Our budget advantage is nothing like that level of superiority over the rest in a modern environment where English league 1 sides could pay as much or even more than we do. And we're mostly picking them up from that level on freebies, as is everybody else. And it's hit and miss, a gamble every time. We could pay a hundred grand for a player and Livi could get lucky and get something better for nothing.

Unless the financial conditions of the game change in Scotland this is it for the foreseeable future. There will be good and bad seasons. Some seasons very bad. The only way to get any money at all is to make a Euro group. If Hearts and or Hibs  do that next season we're in an even deeper hole.

The diddyness of Scottish football clubs is summed up by Queens Park being the third most successful club in Scottish Cup history, despite their last trophy win in that tournament being 129 years ago.

They also reached the English cup final twice.

It's unfortunate he uses the term 'old firm'.

So, a few things.

1/. Yes.
2/.  The big two are there through a combination of their own efforts, a more than supportive administration (including apparently all the other clubs) and those two factors combined providing ring fenced success, hence its self fulfilling for them, mutually destructive for the rest of us.

3/.  Worth repeating the collusion of other clubs.  The last 9 years have proved that.

4/.  The budget thing is a bit of a misnomer in a way.  Use Celtic sans the hun as an example.  Could they sell to maximum effect utter dominance over the new club?  No.  Prostituted themselves and the game in general (not that they gave two hoots about the latter) to recreate the myth.

5/.  Don’t like it? Don’t go.  It doesn’t hurt.  Trust me.
