that might be the number on sale on the website and if so not all the seats have been released as yet.

Merkland has 43 seats left.

Main Stand has 336

South Home Section has 957 available.

Some normal away Section has 621 but tickets that have not been put up for sale yet. Maybe 500?

RDS Front has 293

RDS Rear has 159 but tickets not on sale yet (first dibs to 100% hospitality capacity). Small number likely 100-200.

RDS Upper has 561 but lots of tickets not on sale yet. It could be as much as 1500?

So about 3000 to sell for blagging weve sold out and about 5000 to sell for actually selling out.

So we've sold about 14000 then if it's an 18000 operational capacity?

Still 3 full days to go.  If it's not a sell out it will be pretty damned close.

Will they? They surely can't regularly play on pitches that bad. They've played all over Europe and done alright. Doubt this will be an advantage for us.

That's the stadium (tofig bahramov) where they play all their games so they must be used to it, unless there's been a sudden drop in the caliber of their groundsmen.

(They have been based there since the early 90s, when a war with armenia forced them to relocate from their hometown.)

But good point in that they have been visiting other euro grounds as an away team.

The pitch looked in good nick in highlights of last season's Europa League games, and I think they play their domestic games elsewhere.

No idea how a pitch could get that bad though.

Was the ref for our home game against Rijeka a couple of years back when he sent off Ojo after 20 minutes

Seem to remember Ojo's being pretty soft

Actually just looked it up.

First one definite booking, stood on boys foot when ball was away. Pretty sair looking.

Second one was similar, stood on foot when ball was away, nae quite as bad as foirst one, but certainly a bookable offence.

Though may refs would have held back on the second yellow perhaps.

Aye.

They play domestic matches at Azersun Arena, which the club owns.

Why do they have to move?

As far as I can gather, they don't actually have to move.

Azersun Arena built in 2015 only has a capacity of 5,800.

Bizarrely. their domestic games only attract crowds of between 500 and 1,500, except for big games v Neftci, which they also move to Republican Stadium.

They are definition of big game hunters.

2 euro games I was at 2 seasons ago @maryhilldon :checkit:   v APOEL had 31,000 & v Sevilla had 20,000.

Although not as enthusiastic for a match v AFC, still was a 10,000 crowd so also needed to move if they were to  capitalise financially .

Shifted about 500 tickets yesterday.

So about 2000 seats better off than at the same stage before the Breidablik game.

surely it’s just ex pats coming out to see decent teams who clearly don’t care about local farmer matches?

quite embarrassing to lose to that mob when you think about it…. But we won’t ?
