Maybe.

Suppose that emphasises Aberdeen isn’t a major football city.

You're really enjoying labouring that point.

You really think COVID is knocking thousands off attending?

Not sure. We got 15,000, with far higher prices, at the last game.

We might edge up towards 16,000, but I’m surprised it hasn’t already sold out given the importance of the game.

Stj sold out v galatasary. Other clubs are selling out. Think its unlikely that thousands of Aberdeen fans are concerned about covid to the point they are not buying tickets.

Yes I do think it’s the major contributor to it, numbers on the rise make people edgy and in reality a lot of people are worried and a crowd of 18k is not what they want. Before Covid a game like this we would have people on here moaning the glory hunters are out and others who deserve tickets can’t get them

True.

Folk will say “aye, but they’re only selling 10k”But that’s more than twice their normal amount.

But this is a 1 off season in Europe for them

We may be stronger in certain other areas but I’m just concerned we lack the creativity to hurt this team tomorrow night.

A 5 year younger McGinn and Hayes, or a Kenny McLean or Ryan Christie type (we had all 4 simultaneously at one stage) and I’d be a lot more confident.

If you look at Qarabag results, they’re invariably very tight.
They don’t let many in.

Yes, that’s true, but this is the first time in 14 years we have a chance of the group stages

More embarrassed.

Our away support is great, the best when you factor in travelling, expense etc.

But the home support is the opposite. Strange.

I won’t open up the debate about “central belt” Dons support boosting the away fan base 😉

Let's wait and see. I think they'll sell a few in the next 24 hours.

It's a combination of some folk still being wary of big crowds, folk watching their pennies and Qarabag not being a household name like Sociedad were.

I think we'll hit 17000 plus by kick off

But it’s group stages of the 3rd tournament! It’s not the big teams we will be facing off against

16-17k would be twice our season ticket holder amount?

Yeah but Stj don't have 5,000 season ticket holders. They have 2,500.

So what's your point, that Stj fans are equally as worried about covid but thought fuck it and sold out as they might catch covid but it's a one off European tie 😂

Galatasary are a lot better known in Europe.

Plus St Johnstone are rarely in Europe.

St Johnstone let season ticket holders in for free and their other prices were far lower than ours.  Celtic fans were protesting and complaining about their tickets being £19, let alone our prices!

Maybe families who shelled out for the last game can't afford to do so again for this game?  Who knows - if the club wanted to guarantee a quick sell out they should've made the tickets £20/£10.  They'll still get close to a sell out with these prices so hardly a disaster.

St Johnstone sold 4 times their season ticket amount.

Wouldn't we have made the group's if we beat Maribor? And sociedad?

May be wrong but I thought they were 3rd qualifying round, pre play off round being introduced

No. That was QR3 & would only have got us to Play Off round

I thought the play off round only got introduced in the years following those games! It definitely used to be groups straight after qualifying round 3.

Whatever it was called, we still had another game to negotiate if we’d beaten Sociedad, Maribor, Kairat Almaty, Limassol.

Don't worry about the fans that aren't there, make a noise and get behind the team.

I won't be in attendance.

I've a date with my daughter.

We will watch on RedTV however.

I'll save myself for the group aways and being a drunken liability in a lovely European city.

WE ARE FUCKING WINNING TOMORROW 2-0.

Into them.
