Scotland vs Denmark, Moldova & Austria

Recommended Posts

Have to imagine a very comfortable 3 or 4 nil win for the Austrians.

They'll be desperate to get their campaign back on track, and there's hardly a team in the group less capable of preventing an average side like Austria from taking them apart than Scotland.

Scotland can never handle 2 games in 4 or 5 days during international breaks,  so zero chance of us handling 3 in 10 days or whatever it is.

Failure to qualify for the Nations league play offs will come back and haunt us, players still pissed after qualifying for the Euros, cos there’s no way we’re finishing 2nd in this group.

In any case, even if we did, the 2nd place play offs are tortuous anyway

Moldova game was basically a training match in between actual games.

I think you are being a little bit too pessimistic pal.

We will give these alpine yodelling freaks a game.

You don't want players to enhance their credentials and personal development by being internationals?

Strange view.

There are pros and cons.

An international player naturally (should) command a larger fee if he gets sold. He gets experience playing at an international level against, usually, a higher quality of player.

Then again, risking injury, and at least tiredness, for a meaningless Scotland match isn't ideal, particularly for a threadbare club like Aberdeen.

You risk injury getting out of bed in the morning.

No pain, no gain son.

I suspect there are probably significant differences in the risk of injury between going to the kitchen to get your sugar-frosted Wheaties, and playing 90 minutes of international football, however.

There's probably a Risk Management table somewhere showing exactly the odds of Eating Wheaties vs Playing For Scotland.

Wheaties may well leave your bowel in suspension or even IBS bud.

Dangerous game to play that.

Scotland never really have a decent pool/selection of players for all positions. Probably not since the 80’s/90’s

Right now we seem to have a decent pool of midfielders & FB’s but are really limited up front & especially in central defence.

Keepers are still relatively ok but not near the quality of old there either.

Really is grim that a country with football as its main sport is so limited in any areas let alone so many.
