I know Hendry has just gone to Bruges for £8.5 million

But I doubt Clarke would think he's good enough to play in midfield regardless of that, whilst leaving 2 actual midfielders on the bench (plus Christie and Fraser who are sort of midfield/attacking hybrids). He's already shoehorning Robertson into midfield which hasn't exactly been a great success to date.

I do think Hendry will play in the back 3 though, probably in place of Cooper from your side.

Frustrating if we take 4 or less in these games, given the results before them. We have a pretty good squad now and should be looking to compete. We should be seeing off the likes of Austria, especially at home (few months ago), and Israel. Clarke is fixated on playing top players out of position and so far it doesn't appear to be very successful.
