Connor Barron

No op required. He has a scheduled consultation with the specialist in London today. He expects to get the all clear, which means removing the brace from his leg. If so, then he will be back in around 5 weeks. Needs 2 to 3 weeks of light work just taking care to build the leg back up. Then 2 weeks full training before being available to play.

Presuming this is right then out for another four weeks? @Feel

So he’s essentially back to being a squad player then when he’s back ?

Well he's not going to be starting in the next two.

Let's worry about how to fit him in when we see who is available for that one (United away?)

Interesting that Clarkson is also out for the next two before coming back in.

We should switch personnel about depending on the opposition

Strachan at celtic had 3 teams

One to entertain

One to get the job done

One he could rely on if his job was on the line

Ramadani and McCrorie should only play together in the last 2 scenarios

With our aspirations and budget compared to the rest, we should rarely play rama and mccrorie together

So they should only play together in the games that we want to win or really want to win?

I dont know what my point was there to be honest!

I know what you mean young man.

if we are going to entertain and batter teams 3 or 4 nil then you’d probably want barron and clarkson in the team at the expense of either mccorie or ramadani.

i don’t think either of them would be consistent enough at this time though and our overall squad isn’t at the level where we can do that.

I’m still unconvinced by this team. Definitely better than last season but that should be a given

Yep that was it

Against lesser teams, we don't need both rama and mccrorie

Against proper guff we shouldn't need either of them

And I know what you mean about the team just now

I still get more excited about an upcoming match than I have for years, but 20 mins in that excitement dissipates quickly

I am holding onto the hope they are all just still blending

Completely agree on Ramadani and McCrorie.

With the team on the whole, think we just have to give them time and keep the faith… even though we’ve paid out a lot of money, still quite a few ‘project players’ on our books, with whom it might be a while till we see the best of them!

Defo

better than a team of 30-35 year olds who are already shite, will only get worse and have no sell on value though. Can’t believe that didn’t work out last season

Haha when you say it like that it looks insane

Surely though, buying young,  improving then selling on is so obvious

If it was easy everyone would do it

As a few of us were saying.. lets not worry too much about how we fit everyone in.

That's now a minimum of Scales (with potential McCrorie defence implications), Roberts and Clarkson out of Barron's first game back.

Aye, we'll hardly ever have a full squad available.

Problem today was not having either Barron or Clarkson available. Both guys who can move the ball quickly and pick a pass.

And then moving another first choice midfielder into defence half way through the game into the bargain.

We just don't have enough midfield players to do stuff like that.

But because of mismanagement we have to because we don’t have enough CH’s

This was ALWAYS going to bite the stupid cunt in the arse. He is lucky he has the chance to at least try to react/fix it with the international break & find a CH without a club but I think he will be to proud ‘stubborn’ to admit his fk up & do so

He doesn't have to move McCrorie

He chooses to do so.

But aye, it's was obvious to most of us that we were a couple short in defence (as well as one short in midfield)
