Apart from getting Barron on a longer term deal - Boyle is probably the best business we could do this summer. He’s 3 good years in him minimum yet at 29.

Well I can reveal that Bates looks every inch the candidate for collapsing with heatstroke/sunburnt to a frazzle.

And he fouls every bit as much in training as he does in real matches

was that the lad playing RB second half ? thought he looked good on the ball but perhaps a bit slight for a CH could be good cover at RB this season until he matures , fills out a bit

Yeah I was impressed with him (as impressed as you could be watching the terrible coverage of that terrible game). He did look composed and comfortable on the ball, but looked more like a midfielder than a defender to me. I also thought Ngwenya looked decent. Barron head and shoulders above the rest though. Seeing how some of these youngsters do this season will be almost as interesting as the new signings.
